We moved into the community on February 1, 2011

how long have you lived at Fireside at Norterra? how did you end up living here?

short Short Family

I. elmer short, on December 10, 2010 I was up, as usual, a few hours before my wife, Legia, reading the newspaper and drinking my morning coffee. When my wife woke up, she came into the kitchen and we began discussing real estate values throughout previous years to the current year. I told her that our current home needed a few things repaired or we could just purchase a new one. she said, Well, lets buy a new one. she jumped on the computer to check out new homes and Fireside at Norterra was in the second group of homes we looked at. The next day, December 16th, we signed the contract to purchase our new home in Fireside. I have owned many homes over the past 42 years and I love Fireside at Norterra more than any! I used to work for a large Natural gas utilitys Company in Washington D.C. Metro Area prior to my retirement. My position was as service Department Field superintenant/energy Conservation specialist. MY wife, Legia, is retired from a career in Law. our son, Nicolas, is turning 16 in April. his is an I.B. student at Berry goldwater high school and is a varsity Tennis player. My hobbies, at my age, are staying in decent shape, family and helping veterans and others in need. Legia and Nicolas also do volunteer work at various institutions. Fireside has an amazing Community Center, Fitness Center, wlaking trails, hiking Trails and most of all its quiet. I enjoy the morning social groups in the community Center Main Lobby & reading the paper. I grew up in the sW part of virginia. The area is known for coal mining, farming, good high schools, football and moonshine. Legia grew up in California and south America. Nicolas has been living the united states since he was a year old. I am a vietnam vet that saw almost 13 months of combat as a Machine gunner with the Marine Core throughout 1966-1967. I am also a officer with the Military order of the Purple heart here in the valley. We are always looking for combat wounded veterans to join the Chapter. Each step-children. In her contestant will be given 15 minutes to showcase their free time she enjoys talent and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place scrpabooking with her winners.
