The inaugural Burns Supper on Friday, January 27th was a huge success...SOLD OUT with a waiting list! A big thank you to Meredith & Jason Helgerson who hosted the evening. Meredith not only spent a lot of time and energy getting all the details just right prior to the event, she greeted each guest as they arrived with a warm smile and a chat and served as mistress of ceremonies. She truly made the event memorable for everyone who attended. But dont just take our word for it... Burns Supper was, in a word, magical. Candlelight, white roses and heather, bagpiper, great food and masterful readings of the works of Rabbie Burns. Thanks to all who participated, and especially to Meredith and Jason for hosting. This Valentines Day, revisit the toys and games of your childhood with a guided tour of Kid Stuff at the Albany Institute, then head across the street to the Club for drinks, games, dinner or all of the above! The Times Union Center is upstate New York's premier sports and entertainment facility. Home to the Siena Saints Division I men's basketball team and Albany Devils AHL hockey team, the arena hosts a variety of events ranging from concerts to family shows to sporting events. For the past 16 years, Bob Belber, General Manager of the TUC and SMG Northeast Regional Manager of Live Entertainment, has worked with agents and promoters while they are routing tours, leveraging the other 18 arenas in the Northeast Region to attract more performing artists to Albany. Mr. Belber will discuss the history of the facility as outlined in the "Milestones of the Times Union Center" report, trends in arena entertainment, and the role of facilities like the TUC in downtown revitalization. $15 per person, includes lunch buffet. Join us Tuesday, February 14th at the Albany Institute at 5:30 p.m., for a one-hour guided tour of Kid Stuff: Great Toys from Our Childhood. From Slinkys and Wooly Willys to Lionel Trains and BarbieTM Dolls, Kid Stuff takes visitors back to the age of tailfins and vinyl records with more than 40 toys from decades past. See vintage toys with original packaging and promotional materials, and play with LEGO blocks, Twister, Mr. Potato Head, and more. (This exhibit closes on March 4 dont miss it!) At 6:30 p.m., cross the street to the club, find a partner to play some of the games featured in the exhibit, have a drink or order dinner from the a la carte menu. The cost for the tour and reception is $15 and includes admission to the Albany Institute. Join the University Club Foundation on Tuesday, February 7th from 6-8 pm for Ella Unplugged: A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald presented by vocalist Perley Rousseau and pianist Sonny Daye who will be joined by special guest bassist Lou Pappas, a former member of the US Military Academy Band. The trio will highlight music from Ella Fitzgeralds Great American Songbook recordings as well as selections from her Pablo Records albums with jazz guitarist Joe Pass. The evening will feature music and anecdotes from Ellas life, from her Apollo Theatre debut at age 16 to her retirement. Ella was the first recorded voice Perley heard as a child, and she was greatly influenced by her music and shows an affinity for her style. Signature songs such as A Tisket A Tasket, How High The Moon, and The Lady Is A Tramp are among the audience favorites included in this unforgettable show. Tickets for the concert are $10, cash or check made payable to University Club of Albany Foundation. Ala Carte dinner will also be available. Weve got an extra day this year, so make the best of it. Leap Day usually occurs only once every four years. A day is added to the calendar in leap years as a corrective measure, because the earth does not orbit around the sun in precisely 365 days. In the Gregorian calendar, the current

standard calendar in most of the world, most years that are evenly divisible by 4 are leap years. In each leap year, the month of February has 29 days instead of 28.
