INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF CHEMISTRY 2011

Therefore, to remove all these drawbacks of the present day students and researchers, our School wishes to organize a workshop for university and college teachers and researchers to discuss all these and also to have deliberations with eminent people (from chemistry as well as other interdisciplinary and allied subjects) at NMU, Jalgaon. The main aim is to motivate the young talent of this area to undertake the activities related to high grade referencing, making innovative schemes, which all to be concise for funding agencies, highlighting the importance of their findings and ideas as well presentation to the august gathering of scientist in India and abroad.

Name of Resource Persons with their Topics of Lecture :

The International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC 2011) is a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind. Under the unifying theme Chemistryour life, our future, IYC 2011 offered a range of interactive, entertaining and educational activities for all ages. The Year of Chemistry is intended to reach across the globe, with opportunities for public participation at the local, regional and national level. The goals of IYC 2011 are to increase the public appreciation of chemistry in meeting world needs, to encourage interest in chemistry among young people and to generate enthusiasm for the creative future of chemistry. The year 2011 coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize awarded to Madame Marie Curiean opportunity to celebrate the contributions of women to science. The year 2011 is also the 100th anniversary of the founding of the International Association of Chemical Societies, providing a chance to highlight the benefits of international scientific collaboration. IYC 2011 events will emphasize that chemistry is a creative science essential for sustainability and improvements to our way of life. Activities, such as lectures, exhibits, and hands-on experiments are exploring how chemical research is critical for solving our most vexing global problems involving food, water, health, energy, transportation and more. In addition, the Year of Chemistry helping to enhance international cooperation by serving as a focal point or information source for activities by national chemical societies, educational institutions, industry, governmental and non-governmental organizations. AIM OF WORKSHOP PROJECT, THESIS AND PAPER WRITING IN CHEMISTRY We are aware of the fact that Indian scientific community is contributing from the very beginning highly to science and its growth. The 100 years of chemistry celebrations are now completed. We realize that there were and are many stalwarts from India contributing through research schemes and innovative ideas for elevation of standard of research and its utilization for sustainable developments for life as well for comforts. Chemistry encompasses all fields of science including medicine and computers; without its use or knowledge, there will be no practical applications like molecular biology or nanotechnology. Having felt the importance of us, one can look for the deficiencies. We at the university or in some prominent colleges do a good quality research or projects, however, no due justice for the work is being given because of the lacunas like; not preparing a report including the highlights of work, not presenting carefully in front of the audience, not making proper referencing, not taking risk of making publication with high international standard journals having high impact factors or not discussing the importance with learned faculty or eminent people in field.
