CHARACTER BACKGROUND

Drizzt was born in the dark elf city of Menzoberranzan, deep in the pitiless Underdark. Hated by his own mother, the powerful matron of House Do Urden, he was nearly sacrificed as an infant, but saved with seconds to spare. He went on to study at the Academy, studying magic and the martial arts, but unable to adapt to the cruel world of his fellow drow, Drizzt finally escaped the City of Spiders and set out to find his own way on the World Above. It was there that he met the blind ranger Montolio and learned the ways of the surface world. When at last he found his way to Icewind Dale, he threw in with the dwarf clan led by Bruenor Battlehammer and met the heroes who would forever be his closest friends and most trusted allies.
