PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE 6 Weekends March: 10/11, 17/18, 24/25, 31/01.04; April: 14/15, 21/22
The course follows a set syllabus and leads to the internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate. Taught in English by Lesley Martin. Lesley Martin was an organic grower and farmer in Cornwall for 20 years before taking a Permaculture Design Course in 1995. She went on to take the Permaculture Diploma, with a 2 year teaching apprenticeship. After qualifying as a teacher in Adult Education she delivered Government funded Permaculture Training Courses throughout the South West of England before moving to Portugal in 1999 where she has been teaching the PDC ever since. Lesley also works as a Permaculture Diploma tutor. Culminates in a Design Work Shop where participants can apply the design skills acquired during the course. Road description to Quinta das Relvinhas Entering the town of Monchique you take the direction of the center and Lisboa. In the local centre take the direction of "Centro de Saude" untill the street divides (approx. 200 m after the fire brigade / Bombeiros). Turning left you find a small roundabout. There you go left in the direction of Foz de Farelo, Selao, Chilrao, it goes uphill a bit. Through winding lanes you get to a sign which leads you in the direction of "Barranco dos Pisoes". Now you need raised attention! Lefthand you see a row of houses, on the right is no cultivation / valley side, where the houses end up you find a high wall, there you go left in a sharp turn 180- You find a gas camp on the right. After approx. 200 m on the slightly rising street with cobblestones you reach a small hilltop, on the left you see a house with green tiles, here turn sharply right. It goes very precipitously up the hill! This branch could be overlooked quite easy, but turn right the first possibility. At the end of the row of houses you find a wall on the right, which is part of the property. After approx. 100 m you reach an iron gate. Here we are! If you cannot open the gate (opening bolt inside), just honk. Welcome to the Quinta das Relvinhas
