If You Missed It - Our January Speaker, IMAN, gave us with an excellent presentation on the new IMAN System currently being installed in our area. This is a Community Owned Fiber Optic Broadband thats reliable, affordable and secure. It should be noted that the most amazing benefit of this network is that it is incorporated as a supporting organization for the Steuben County Community Foundation, allowing a 65% return from all subscription fees back to the foundation for operating and grant making purposes! As IMAN grows (and it will), the charitable capacity of these funds grows too! The end result is a very much needed Fiber Network System for our Businesses and larger financial resources for long-term community grant-making. Its a WIN-WIN!!!!!!!! Please read the information below, it was passed out at the meeting. If anyone has any questions , call either Bill Geiger at 260.668.3111 or email him at bgeiger1@getinet.net or Sharon Stroh at 260.667.7668 or email her at sstroh@getinet.net

It all started in 1863 Campbell & Fetter Bank opened its doors during the Civil War, in 1863. The Bank was a progressive innovator during a tough business climate in American history. Through the years, the Bank worked to build a reputation in customer service, quality banking products and a solid conservative approach to helping our customers. Now 149 years old, Campbell and Fetter Bank is Indianas 3rd oldest bank. Our history tells a story of generations of happy customers. We have weathered a civil war, two world wars, the great depression and many cyclical downturns. Campbell and Fetter was the only Kendallville bank to remain after the banking crisis of 1933. We also hold a BauerFinancial 5 star rating. The highest in the industry. Still a local, family owned bank, Campbell & Fetter Bank provides banking and financial services for consumers and businesses in Noble, DeKalb, Steuben, Kosciusko, Allen and Elkhart Counties. More than a bag of money We like to say we have more to offer than just a bag of money. We pride ourselves in being a trusted resource and advisor to individuals and businesses. What we do must make sense not just for the Bank, but for the customer. Whether a mortgage, construction loan, home improvement loan or business line of credit, our approach is more than rates, its all about solid and ethical banking practices with our customers wellbeing a first priority. Recently, local conservative banking has come into vogue. Not a surprise to us. We call it Sensible Banking. Thats what weve been doing for 149 years. Community Every year Campbell & Fetter Bank donates thousands of dollars in our community through our Community Initiatives program. These funds go to support education, social welfare and human service efforts, the arts, economic development and community organizations. Additionally, Campbell & Fetter Bank employees volunteered over 3,500 hours to community organizations.
Sensible Bankingits what we do for our customers, and for our communities. It all started in 1863. Contact: Jim Hooley Campbell and Fetter Bank Kendallville, IN 260-347-1500

Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards What QABS means for you, the consumer: The Indiana Quality Assurance Standards provide new homebuyers and remodeling customers a way to measure their builder and the project against an industry approved set of standards. These Standards create a series of performance standards builders and customers can use to communicate and understand each other's expectations regarding building/remodeling projects. The Standards address the most prevalent issues that arise between the builder and the customer before the project, during the project, and most importantly, after the project is completed. All too often it is the unrealized or undiscovered expectations that create the majority of problems encountered in the building/remodeling process. The Standards will help eliminate these problems before the project even begins. What QABS means for you, the builder: One objective of the Association is to improve the community image of the industry. Towards that objective, the builders association offers you the Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards. The program includes a set of standards, recommended language for including the standards and mediation/binding arbitration of the standards into project contracts, and marketing information. The Standards create reasonable customer expectations regarding the building/remodeling process, and address the most prevalent issues that arise before the project, during the project, and, most importantly, after the projected is completed. The Standards eliminate the unrealized and undisclosed expectations of the customer by giving the builder/remodeler a tool to discuss, identify, and set the customer's expectations before problems arise. Yet, disputes will inevitably arise that cannot be settled between the two parties using the Standards. With that in mind, the Standards also includes a mediation/binding arbitration mechanism to provide another vehicle to dispute resolution outside the costly and time-consuming court process. Let the consumer know you are a part of the network of quality builders. Include the Indiana Quality Assurance Builder logo in print, television and radio advertising, and promote your membership with the association in press releases and brochures.
