DESIGN BASIS STATEMENT (Inc. sources of info/data, assumptions made, standards, etc.)
1. Methodology
This Spreadsheet is made to check wall stresses are within limits. This also checks the
ACI 318-05 Code requirements for Compressive Stress, Tensile Stress and Shear Stress Limits.
Materials:
fc' =64 Mpa (fcu =80MPa)
fy =460 Mpa
g = 1-4% (Assume)
Compressive Stress Limits (Eq 10-2 ACI 318-05)
Pn, max = [0.85 f'c (Ag - Ast) + fy Ast] , since p g = Ast /Ag
Pn, max = [0.85 f'c (Ag - p gAg) + fy p gAg]
Nc = [0.85 f'c (1 - p g) + fy p g]
Tensile Stress Limits (from T = *As*fy)
Nt =
p g fy
Nv = 0.83*sqrt (fc')
Procedure in using this spreadsheet:
-Copy the wall stresses output of ETABS in the databse tab
-Input Story Data
-Manually sort data depending on the number of stories applicable in scratch tabs
-Assume percentage of reinforcement (say 1-4%)
-After all of this it will generate results in the summary and graph tab
