University of Miami Miller School of Medicine

Perform Media services that target the General population in Miami-Dade County. Perform Media services that target the Hispanic population in Miami-Dade County. Document the grocery gap in underserved areas of Miami-Dade County. Advice on community level strategies and public policy initiatives to expand food access in affected areas.

South Florida Regional Planning Council Implement and facilitate worksite farmers markets and community based farmers markets in Miami-Dade County. Building the organizational capacity of the Food Policy Council. Assess the nutritional environment of the priority areas.

Operates a farmers market at Toussain Louverture Elementary School in Little Haiti on Saturdays.

Earth Learning

Operates a community farmers market at Verde Gardens (apartments for formerly homeless individuals), in Homestead and a worksite market at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center, Downtown Miami. Both markets are open Fridays and accept Supplemental Nutrution Assitance Program (SNAP) and Eletronics Benefits Program (EBT) and double Food Stamps benefits are offered.

Urban Oasis Project

Operates a community market in the Upper Eastside neighborhood of Miami and a worksite market at the Jesse Trice Community Health Center.

War on Poverty

Operates a farmers market at Nathan B. Young Elementary School.

Garden of Ian (GOI)

Working at the Troy Community Garden and Little Haiti Community Gardens to increase plantable space and improve existing irrigation systems.

Miami Foundation Youth L.E.A.D.

Educates community residents about healthy food options to increase knowledge and access through surveys, outreach materials and cooking demonstrations at farmers markets and health fairs.
