Our company accepts to design and implement Instructor Portal Module of the Boazii University e-learning project. The code name that we gave to this project is IPOMO. IPOMO is the name, saving time in an accurate way is the game. IPOMO mostly consists of privileged information that only instructors should see or alter. At the initial screen of our software the instructor logs in after entering his/her login name and password. After a successful login a session is

started which will further extend to the exam management and context management modules to keep track of the active instructor. Then the instructor should select a course that he/she is assigned. At this point cooperation between exam management and context management is essential and our company is eager and capable of information and experience exchange with companies dealing with the titles we have mentioned just before. As a second aspect we think that statistics of a course is very crucial as well as creating content or adding exams. For this reason we are planning to develop a powerful statistics tool that will contain all the information an instructor should know about a course. By using this tool an instructor will be able to see the exam results, standard deviation and average of the exams. Also sorting exam results by grades will be possible to ease the grading for the instructor. Scheduling his/her office hours will not be a big problem for he/she can easily see his/her schedule by our schedule interface. By creating IPOMO our aim is to unite functionality and user friendliness in our program. The module will be implemented with Java programming language.

Our company accepts to design and implement Exam Management Module. The code name for this module is EX-MAN. EX-MAN will be implemented with Java. Our design of Exam Management Module includes two main parts: First part of the module is the instructor part. An instructor can prepare exams for his/her course and grade the exams. The second part of the module is the student part, where the students can take the prepared exams. The most important aspect of this module is security. For this reason we are planning to use Cookies and Sessions in order to accomplish a high level security. 4

In the instructor part of the module the instructor has to login first. Then only the courses that the instructor gives will be displayed by preventing the instructors not to reach the other courses. An instructor can view the questions according to the courses or topics and prepare an exam sheet. He/She also can view old exams from the archive of the course which are recorded when the instructors prepare the exams. Since there are also classical exam questions by the multiple-choice questions the instructor has to define the percentage points of the questions and the exam time and date. The instructor can also grade the classical exam questions after the exam where the multiple-choice questions are graded automatically by the module. In the student part of the module the student will attend to the exams prepared by the instructors. First the student has to login and then the module will check whether the student is registered to this course or not. Another important issue is that the exams are unavailable until its date, which is defined by the instructor. So the exams will be taken on a certain date and for a certain period. On other times this part will unavailable for the students. At the end of the exam the students can view the results and the statistics of the exam directly if it is a multiple-choice exam.

Our company accepts to design and implement Content Management Module. The module will be implemented with Java. Our design of Content Management Module includes 4 separate interfaces: Exam Questions Homeworks & Projects Announcements

Lecture Notes

Besides, some security issues will be handled although the other modules handle them. For example, the instructor coming from Instructor Portal will be checked again. The First part of the module is the Exam Questions. An instructor can prepare a question pool for his/her course and divide it into topics. Topics are needed in order to categorize the exam questions so that the instructor can prepare a more efficient exam. This section needs more security since the lecture notes should not be reached by unauthorized people (like students!). The page is simple to use: when a user chooses Exam Questions link he/she will be asked the type of question (multi-choice or classical) and the topic of the question. The topics will be chosen from a combo box and can be added by add topic button. If question is multi-choice then there will be 5 text boxes, 1 combo box and 1 additional text box. The 5 text boxes are needed to write the question and 4 choices. 1 combo box is to choose the answer: A, B, C or D. The additional text box is to enter the path of the multimedia files putting comma between them. The second part of the module is the Homeworks & Projects, where the instructor can prepare the documents that the students are supposed to submit. The instructor can upload the file including the document or request a text editor to prepare the document in HTML. The third part of the module is the Announcements, where the instructor can announce important issues to the students. The instructor can upload the file including the document or directly write the announcement on html page. The last part of the module is the Lecture Notes, where the instructor can prepare the documents of the course to be read. This section needs more security since the lecture notes should not be reached by unauthorized people (people who didnt register to the e-university.). The instructor can upload the file including the document or request a text editor to prepare the document in HTML.

What we offer to you:


Our company accepts to design and implement the Registration Module, which is the part where students can manage taking courses according to the departments and fees are calculated accordingly. The module will be built on Java Technology and will run on client-server system basis. The server will be a Java Application running on a dedicated server, availing registration and utility (please see client services) services for multiple users simultaneously. The server will be accessing an SQL database and interpreting the database for allowing the student to register for relevant courses and enforcing the course relations such as required courses, pre-requisites or so.

On the client side there will be a Java Applet connecting the Registration Server through internet connection using TCP/IP. Logging in to the system, preparing a curriculum in accordance to the department and general regulation rules, add-drop facility, viewing current student status, fee calculation services will be provided. According to the courses that a student takes, the module will provide a special password, which will be used by only Offline Viewer Module. With this password, the student can only access to the appropriate data submitted to him/her. The price includes coding, installation, and troubleshooting. Hot-line help, upgrading and maintenance services are supported and can be provided upon additional bilateral agreement.

Our company accepts to design and implement the Student Portal Module of the e-learning project of Boazii University. Users will be welcomed after a successful login with a lecture notes, exams, news & announcements page where they can learn about the current ongoing academic events. There can also be chat rooms, e-mail lists, database that holds common files and forums in the portal. Also an internship page will be provided to assist the students in case of internship seeking. This part requires an organization, a team that contacts firms and establishes a table of available internships. This function will also warn any registered internship-seeking user via e-mail if an appropriate one is found. The module will be built on Java Technology and run on Sun Solaris. The price includes coding, installation, and troubleshooting.

This module will be engaged to E-university project to serve for offline_students. This module will be introduced for students who prefer to work offline. By this module students can easily access lecture notes, assignments, quizzes and his notes. The benefit of this module is, by using offline viewer students will be able to access related materials as if this module serves only him.

On the other hand using such a module brings some copyrights problems. Downloaded lecture notes or some other materials can be easily published and shared. This module should be able to supply security about this problem. Work Policy: Downloaded materials should be destructed after some certain period of time. This policys purpose is to make sure that materials cannot be used more than certain period.

To make sure that the user of offline viewer is a registered student, passwords can be changed often and students are informed about it. Or we can use two-step password system. With this system student have an original password and additional password will be changed often. Student needs these passwords both to be able to use the offline viewer.

In registration step, passwords will be assigned to all users in such a way, all users restrictions about capability will be distinguished.

Briefly this module is to handle concepts security, authorization and authentication for students who try to work offline in E-University platform.
