VALUES STATEMENT "I write some crappy songs. ... but every once in a while I get just the right words put together for the right moment, and it feels like magic. There is no explaining the magic. It floats in and then just like that, it floats out. There's no amount of money that will buy magic. I've watched myself try to coax it, but it is only when I relax and totally allow magic to envelop me that it has ever been kind." Bonnie Baker, "Just Another Manic Monday," American Songwriter, November / December 2006 IV. PROCEDURES Routine: Opening Prayer and Greetings Moment of Silence Checking of Attendance (Procession to the Music Room and Vocalization) REMARKS

A. Motivation: Perform a song using moveable chords. B. Review: Chord Progressions C. Lesson Proper:
1. Open Position chords 2. F and Bb moveable chords 3. bm, G, C, A and D moveable chords 4. Moveable chords and Chord Progressions 6. Group/Individual Song Practice D. Recapitulation/Generalization: Assimilating open position chords with moveable chords provides us with a multitude of different chord progressions to use. A songwriters tool includes using these chords to deal with different sound moods. A songwriter using the guitar can equally manifest his ideas using these moods to determine the overall effect of his/her song composition. Using moveable chords in the other hand provides the guitarist control to which position to use. Making guitar playing easier in transit and progression. E. Evaluation: Performing progressions using the following moveable chords bm, G, A and D. F. Application: Determining chord positions of moveable chords with time signature G. Enrichment: Creating songs for commercial jingles or song compositions that deal with 3 verse poems. Enriching song playing for possible development of advanced song writing skills using moveable guitar chords as the compositors tool. V.ASSIGNMENT: Bring guitars next meeting, practice song choice for group and individual performances (practical). Prepare for a quiz on moveable chords. Submitted by:
