THE NEW WRITING SPACES: FROM BLOGGING TO BLOOKING Today we live in a technologically developed, postmodern society. When a culture is undergoing a lot of changes due to scientific advances and technological developments, literature mirrors these changes. In this postmodern context, literature has adapted to these new features and scopes. It opens us to the internet, which provides us with new writing spaces like the social networking sites and blogs. Blog is a space where everyone can contribute. Blog provides space not only for writers but also for readers to post their responses freely. This paper attempts to study the unexplored terrain of the new books, a hybrid literary form at the cutting edge of both literature and technology, called blooks. The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of computer technology on our understanding of textuality, and to explain specifically how and why computers have changed and will continue to change our notion of text and textual studies. This study is based on popular blook writings from postmodern Malayalam fiction.
