INFORMATIONS: 1. The new stewardship of SPEUISC 2012, here are the board directors structure of SPEUISC. The differences between last year board structure and this year: - There are new divisions, those are Finance division (conducts fundraising division) and Research & Development division (with two main focuses, journalistic and membership). - Below the head of HR, there is deputy of competition, who will provides member needs in joining competition 2. SPC (Student Paper Contest) SPE Student Paper Contest (SPE-SPC) is one of annual activity from SPE Java Section. For your information, participant who win this competition will be sent to APOGCE 2012 in Perth, Australia as a delegation from SPE Java Section. Theme for SPC in this year is Optimizing Innovative Technology to Ensure Future Global Oil and Gas Demand . The theme is made based on APOGCE 2012 s theme which is Providing Bright Future . SPC 2012 is divided into 2 part, there are SPC for UNDER-GRADUATE and SPC for POST-GRADUATE. The final event of SPC (Presentation of paper and announcement of the winners) will be held on March, 24th 2012 (coincide with *GL-WS, Guest Lecture and Workshop from SPEUISC). We as members of SPE UISC have to come to the final event, to support our delegations, also to extend a warm welcome for all SC in Java as the host of this event. 3. Guest Lecture Series (Featuring IATMI SMUI) On March 3rd, 2012 there will be a guest lecture series, from 8 AM until 16 PM. There are 4 themes that this GL series brings:

If you want to get more knowledge about the basic of oil and gas industry, I personally suggest you to come to this GL, cause this is so important for us, later as a chemical engineer who have role in working at O&G sectors. 4. Beijing, China: 2012 IPTC (International Petroleum Technology Conference) Call for abstract! Deadline of abstract submission: March, 2nd 2012. Annual Informal Practice Information Annual Informal Practice is one of the programs of Competition Division (Human Resource). In this Annual Informal Practice, member who interested in studying and sharing knowledge also the questions about Oil and Gas (as preparation to face competition). The person in charge here is Irene Ariani (2009). 6. Renew and Register Membership Each new member has to do registration on SPE International Website (spe.org) to get a SPE member card and officially registered as a member in SPE. For member who has do registration, I want to remind you to renew your membership as soon as possible. The tutorials about renew and register can be downloaded in SPE UISC facebook group and in SPEUISC website (spescui.spe.org).
