Undergraduate Programs

A vibrant program designed especially for undergraduate students has been planned by the Society Committee on Educations Task Force on Undergraduate Programming (Program Chair: Michael Adams, Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, LA. Chair: Matthew Mio, University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit, MI). This educational and career-oriented program includes symposia The Chemistry of Coffee and Nuclear Chemistry, workshops on Careers in Academia and Demos that Matter. Eminent scientist, Kimberly Prather, will discuss her career path and novel research on the impacts of aerosols on climate and the environment. All events will take place at the San Diego Convention Center.

San Diego Local Section Welcomes You

The San Diego Local Section extends a warm welcome to visitors attending the upcoming national meeting. The San Diego area is home to Biotechnology, Cleantech companies. More than 80% of the sections 2600 members are engaged in life science academia and industry. This year, the section will focus on entrepreneurship and encourage greater participation by their members, guests and community. Meet the ACS Congressional Fellow & Learn about Science Policy Fellowships

Are you interested in science policy and how it is shaped by Congress? Want to know more about potential career paths in science policy? Visit the ACS Office of Public Affairs Booth at the Exposition on Monday, March 26 from 23 pm to meet Christopher Avery, currently an ACS Congressional Fellow, and learn more about the ACS Public Policy Fellowships program. It is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into public policy by working on Capitol Hill or at ACS in Washington, DC. Chris will share what its like to be a scientist working on the Hill, and how to apply for a fellowship. Another opportunity to learn about Science Policy Fellowships in Washington takes place on Tuesday, March 27 from 3:15-5 pm at the San Diego Convention Center Room, 26 B.
