Scenario :

Seri Iskandar is one of the new cities in Perak. In the near future, the state government of Perak will develop Seri Iskandar to be a big city. You, as an entrepreneur need to develop a new business in Bandar Seri Iskandar. You may build a new business or be a franchisee. To gain the information on the potential market in Seri Iskandar, you need to do a market survey before developing your own business.

Our group Scenario : Our group plan to open a Halal Fast Food joint in Seri Iskandar area. Seri Iskandar is considered a town that populated with not only Universities Student but also High School students. Teenagers are the major consumer or fast food industries not only in Seri Iskandar but also the world. We as one of those major consumers of Fast Food think that opened a Halal Fast Food Franchisee can be a good introduction to Seri Iskandar. There are many types of Fast Food Franchisee in Seri Iskandar and some this fast food franchisee is quite famous not only for their delicious food but also great services. After a long consideration with our group members, we decided Radix Fried Chicken as the new Franchisee Local Fast Food that would be introduced to open in Seri Iskandar Perak.RFCis an alternative to an Fast Food that introduced from HPA Industries. RFC main objectives is to provide opportunities for consumers to choose food that are prepared to meet the halal method of organic farming system starting from the chicken to be used in RFC restaurant. In opening a business, good decision may need effective used of information thus this may help us solve some of those question that we needed to open RFC in Seri Iskandar area. Collection of various types data: primary and secondary may help us solve some of those business decision that we are having before we start opening a RFC franchise in Seri Iskandar.

Task 1 : Types of data required for potential market of Radix Fried Chicken There are 2 types of data that we should collect for the potential market of Radix Fried Chicken to be open in Seri Iskandar area : Primary Data and Secondary Data. Primary data is first hand or original data that collected by the researcher themselves using method that suitable according to the situation. There are many types method in collecting information for primary data. We will discuss this method later on in task 2. Here in task 2, we will discuss the types, method or techniques used in obtaining primary data from the citizen of Seri Iskandar. In collection new primary data, we should planning, design, and conduct of clinical trials, observational studies, and other investigations in collecting data. These are some other methods used : a. Observation It is a method of data gathering in which a qualified person watches, or walks through, the actual processing associated with a system. This method is usually used when determining some types of personalities, the experience and determined an passive or active person
Advantages : If

the researcher observes and record events, it is not necessary to rely on the willingness and ability of respondents to report accurately.
Disadvantages : Cost

We as a group have decided that the best techniques to be used to obtain our information data on opening a Fast Food Joint , Radix Fried Chicken in Seri Iskandar area is by using Survey. Survey is type of non experimental, descriptive study, does not involve direct observation by a researcher. From a survey,we may studies the behavior of the population sample of Seri Iskandar. Survey have many types of data collection techniques such as Telephone Survey, Mail Survey, Online Survey, Personal in-Home Survey and Personal Mall Survey. We think using a Personal Mall Survey is a good choice of way for us to obtain some of our sample data that we have discuss earlier in Task 1. Personal Mall Survey is a survey that is conducted in a local Super Market and data collected via interview and distributing a questionnaires throughout the shoppers that came in the Super Market. Recently, Seri Iskandar opened a well known Supermarket called TESCO. TESCO is a very establish Supermarket that have many branch not only in some part of cities area but also the opened their supermarket in rural area sch as Seri Iskandar. Now, TESCO Seri Iskandar is a place where most of Seri Iskandar people go to buy their products. Because survey is an inexpensive way to collect data, it is such a great techniques for us because we dont need to spent a lot on this project. A survey also useful when describing the characteristic of a large population and it has been proven in general capability. Some of the questions can be ask remotely and some of sensitive issued will be obtain through survey method. Usually, high reliability is easy to obtain--by presenting all subjects with a standardized stimulus, observer subjectivity is greatly eliminated. A survey can help us obtained some of sensitive issue that influence from some factor such as cost, coverage of target population, flexibility of asking questions, the willingness of the participant to accurately response towards some of the question given to them. By using interview or questionnaires we obtain the behavioral types of people in population of Seri Iskandar. Interviews or questionnaires commonly include an assortment of forced-choice questions (e.g. True-False) or open-ended questions (e.g. short answer essay) to which subjects are asked to respond. One of a major limitation of the survey method is that it relies on a self-report method of data collection. Intentional deception, poor memory, or misunderstanding of the question can all contribute to inaccuracies in the data. This is a very hard limitation to overcome with. But, working in group may help us overcome this limitation and with the help of our subject lecturer as our guidance in providing a better report by the end of this survey. Finally, in this task we as a group have gathered sources of information (Primary Data and Secondary Data) in task 1, then determined all best techniques to collect information in task 2 and finally choosing the best techniques to be used in collection information for our Radix Fried Chicken Fast Food Restaurant that would be opened in Seri Iskandar Perak.
