Software Specification The Operating System used are Fedora Linux Core 3 and Microsoft Windows 2003 Advanced Server. The Project Centers on a RedHat Linux Server running on an IBM e-series x220. Overview of the project Project Linux Hub is a computer networking project and has the main objectives to setup a centralized computing environment along with the necessary network features. This include web server, mail server, remote boot server, terminal service, streaming media server and file server. This project takes up the challenge to single point network administration in a distributed computing environment. The project aims upon full completion a fully functional computer network where a user can use any operating system or network service using a single login ID and password. In the first phase we design and implement a centralized computer network using the packages SAMBA, NFS, DNS, FTP etc.. As the second phase we implement a WebServer and E-mail server using Apache and SendMail. Modules of the project This project is divided into six different modules. DNS NFS SAMBA

1. DNS (Domain Name Server) DNS makes it possible to refer to Internet Protocol (IP)- based system (hosts) by human-friendly names (domain names). Name resolution is the act of determining the IP address (or address) of a given hostname. The benefits of DNS are two-fold. First, domain names can be logical and easily remembered. Second, should an IP address for a host change, the domain name can still resolve transparently to the user or application. 2. NFS (Network File System) The NFS exists to allow host to mount partition on a remote system and use them as though they were local file system. This allow files to be organized in a central location, while providing the functionality of allowing authorized users continuous access to them. 3. SAMBA The Samba Server will provide user authentication via password and optionally domain. Samba is a suit of programs which work together to allow clients to access to a servers filespace and printers via the SMB (Server Message Block) protocol. Initially written for Unix, Samba now also runs on Netware, OS/2 and VMS. 4. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) The Very Secure FTP Daemon, VSFTP was designed to be a secure, stable, fast, and scalable FTP daemon. It provides two levels of user access: Anonyamous access : Users can log in as user ftp or as user anonymous to get access to an anonymous ftp site. User Access : Users with accounts on the target system can connect via FTP log in using their user name and password. They can download any file they can read and upload to any directory which they have write access. 5. Web Servers The World Wide Web is the fastest growing segment of the internet, and HTTP traffic makes up over 75 percent of the total network bandwidth. With the increasing computer power, decreasing prices, free operating systems such as Linux, and free Web Servers such as APACHE and TUX, its getting even easier for establishing a presence on the web. The Web Server usually has a simpler job: to accept HTTP request and send a response to the client. 5. Sendmail Server Electronic mail (email) supports many old email address and transfer standards, such as BITNET address and UUCP email transfer. It can hide email sent from users and machines, and can masquerade this email as coming from a given domain, or host. It also supports receiving and sending email from virtual domains. Many domains could be mapped to one IP address

It includes complete information about the models and clients. .the site acts as a fashion model agency where the clients can find suitable models for their work such as tv shoots, ads etc. The site holds the information about the models age, appearance, qualifications etc. The site provides an extensive picture gallery for each fashion model with security. There is an administrator in our site who manages all the activities between the models and clients and can make effective communication within them. Administrator can also upload the latest news and new trends in costumes and cosmetics. All the common users can view the news and shop items. It is the most reliable and accurate information source for worldwide media. The portal is continually growing fashion community. Global Fashion Network is developed for both models and clients to communicate for their business development.Any one who uses this site can be get updated with the latest trends in the fashion world. He will also be able to buy different products & some information about them. The scope of our project is enormous. More functionalities such as mobile sms alerts for clients, online shopping, video uploading can be added to our project without any difficulty in future. Existing System Existing system is a manual system which has its own limitations. It is less speedy and less interactive and also more costly. It requires more human effort and is less reliable. About the project Global Fashion Network is a website for the models and clients to communicate for their business development. Typically,this means that model information are delivered via the Internet.In this web application the Models and clients can register online. They can login to the application only after admin verification.When a client login to the application he can view the photos and profiles of registered models.Then he can send a mail to a model he interested.After admin verification the models can login to the application and view their mails. Now a confirmation mail ll be received by the client.
