Topic: Why is Antarctica important and how are people trying to protect it?

After learning about Antarctica, your task is to answer the above question as detailed as you possibly can. Use the contributing questions to help you. Think about the ways that you can present this. You may choose ONE of these ideas. You will need to cite where you found your information. This needs to be done in the following way; Heading: Bibliography For Books: Author, name of book, date of publication eg, Clevelend, C, Living in Antarctica, 2003 For internet: Title of site, web address eg, Classroom Antractica, www.classroom.antarctica.gov.au You will have time to work on this task at school but you may need to complete certain parts at home. This will be part of your homework for 3 weeks. This assignment is due on Monday, 2nd April (Week 10)

You will be marked on the following criteria; Criteria Continent 1 No description of where Antarctica is, life in Antarctica, nature of Antarctica and why it is such a different place from Australia 2 Describes where Antarctica is, some life in Antarctica, some nature of Antarctica and a small comparison of why it is such a different place from Australia Has minimal description of early explorers and Australias involvement. Describes some ecosystems and animals in Antarctica. Has little mention of the special environment. 3 Describes where Antarctica is, life in Antarctica, nature of Antarctica and why it is such a different place from Australia
