7 HEALTHCARE BUILDINGS EQUIPMENT GUIDE INTRODUCTION

Legrand, the healthcare buildings specialist.

Legrand offers complete and functional solutions for equipping patient rooms, corridors, treatment rooms, staff rooms, kitchens, service areas etc. from bedheads to signalling systems.

Elioflux 2TM bedhead trunking units

These are used to route medical gases to patient rooms together with a wide range of electrical functions selected by the project manager that can be organised into flush-mounting modular units. They are supplied assembled, wired and ready to install.

EliocadTM hospital signalling systems

EliocadTM offers all the benefits of BUS communication combined with the functionality of the Mosaic range. The system includes 3 different programmes, with or without interphones, and also has paging and call tracing functions.

Mosaic nurse call unit

A wired system providing the following functions: call, emergency call, nurse present, call cancel in rooms, bathrooms and a link to the nurses station. The system can also be used for paging (available as an option).

Elioflux 2TM and Evolutive strips

These are fitted with all Mosaic wiring accessories functions. Many different finishes are available in the Elioflux 2TM version. Power can be supplied via the ends or through a false ceiling, using white lacquered aluminium or PVC DLP trunking.

Legrand, the company of choice for a complete offer

In addition to specific equipment for healthcare buildings, Legrand offers solutions that can also be used to reduce energy bills (presence sensors etc.) and facilitate the work of care staff (a range of automated functions such as electric roller blinds) or maintenance personnel (addressable emergency lighting systems allowing to control up to 1023 emergency lighting units and conversion kits). Safety issues are also covered with a range of fire alarms.

a made-to-measure bedhead trunking unit.

The Elioflux 2 TM range is adapted to the requirements of hospital environments and to the expectations of the project manager. all standards, all the benefits.

Elioflux 2 TM guarantees complete safety in conformity with the standards in force, and excellent functionality, both during installation and use.

A range that conforms to standards

Elioflux 2TM complies with the requirements of standard NF EN 60598-2-25 (luminaire section) and of new standard EN ISO 11197 (services trunking for medical applications).

Optimised installation
3 separate compartments: A large central compartment for medical gases (up to 6 different gases). This area is highly valued by specialists who consider this range to be one of the easiest to work with. The only limit to the number of sockets for the same gas is the space available. A compartment for high currents A compartment for low currents The prefitted tubes on Elioflux 2TM bedhead trunking units are guaranteed to be perfect as they are assembled in the factory by teams qualified and trained in the specific work of medical gas systems. Once supplied, the product can be quickly installed without producing dust and debris, which is important given the very tight delivery times at the end of a project.

The benefits recognised by professionals:

Simple and clean installation of a wall to wall system using a specific end cap for a perfect finish Easy mounting using fixing lugs from which the trunking unit is suspended (no cross mounting) Trunking unit fitted with angled Viking terminal blocks for easy electrical connections Prewired factory-fitted functions with testing of each trunking unit Accessibility to light sources, starter, etc. without the need for disassembly Easy maintenance requiring only a simple screwdriver

all standards, all colours.
The Elioflux 2 TM range benefits from all the functions and flexibility of the Mosaic range.

Numerous functions and flexibility

Elioflux 2TM supports all sockets compliant with international standards and is therefore marketed throughout the world. Alongside this flexibility is the added benefit of the vast range of functions offered by Mosaic, totalling more than 200.

A choice of decorative finishes as well

The Elioflux 2TM fascia trim and downward vertical runs can be supplied in a wide range of decorative finishes on request (see range of colours on the next page). The bedhead trunking unit can therefore provide a decorative element that contributes to the comfort of the patient, as selected by the architect or purchaser.

Internet access allows patients to work or check their message systems and care staff to consult patient records on site.

The Legrand offer is being constantly enhanced by innovative solutions with high added value. It is therefore now possible to set up information networks in healthcare buildings: Internet access or Wi-fi* terminals to help patients have a more pleasant hospital stay and give personnel rapid access to data.

*provided that the local regulations in force allow wireless installations in healthcare buildings.

EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2000/55/EC

European directive 2000/55/EC on ballasts recommends the use of more energy-efficient products. In support of this, the Syndicat de lclairage (French lighting manufacturer organisation) recommends developing the use of electronic ballasts. It should be noted that a ban on the sale of C type ferromagnetic ballasts was introduced on 21/11/2005. Other restrictions will gradually appear in relation to this type of energy-hungry ballast.

2000 AFE RECOMMENDATIONS*

Evolutive strips conform to the recommendations stipulated by the AFE for healthcare establishment lighting. Average lighting level of 300 lux on the bed surface. *

Eliocad

cost-effective, simple, adaptable.

From installation to use, Eliocad offers reliability and simplicity that is appreciated by everyone, from the electrical contractor to the end user.

3 programmes to meet all needs

EliocadTM is suitable for all configurations and meets all needs with only 3 programmes: Call Call + 1 Nurse Present Call + 2 Staff Present An interphone function is available as an option.

Easy integration of additional functions

Eliocad can be adapted to the refurbishment or extension of facilities. Simply (re)configure the room at the control unit, adding the necessary functions. In the case of refurbishment projects, EliocadTM signalling systems make it possible to reuse part of the existing cabling, by simply connecting to the bus wire.
TM

Simplicity
2 wires to connect to the bus, 2 wires to connect to mains power, modular products and wiring accessories for truly simple installation.

Reliability
All devices communicate with each other directly via room interfaces without going through a central unit, thus eliminating the risk of general outages.

Lower costs
EliocadTM signalling systems reduce costs: Lower installation and wiring costs thanks to bus technology Durability of the installation which has a long life and can be easily upgraded Lower maintenance costs, facilitated by grouping all elements in the control unit and room interface Optimisation of personnel: call forwarding, transferring calls to another control unit and interphone use prevent wasted journeys Parameter setting and modifications can be carried out by the local installer.

Economy
The same device can perform several functions, reducing the number of devices necessary as well as the total cost. A single cable is sufficient for circulating all the information in the installation, saving on wiring and maintenance.
