About Raindrop Technique

Raindrop Technique is an exciting new modality, which can be performed on both people and animals. In addition to being performed as a technique in its own right, the various elements of Raindrop Technique can be used to complement most other modalities, including Massage (all forms), Reflexology, Bowen technique, Shiatsu, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy. Raindrop Technique derives its name form the art of dripping unadulterated, therapeutic-grade essential oils onto the body from a height, like rain, so that the oils interact with the physical body as well as the auric or energy field. This was inspired by the Native American belief that raindrops falling from a height may purify and cleanse the body and spirit. Because the essential oils easily penetrate the skin and muscles, the technique works on deep levels of the body without requiring hard pressure or force. Raindrop Technique was developed by essential oil researcher and naturopath D. Gary Young. What he discovered through research was that many forms of spinal misalignment are caused by muscle spasms and inflammation-producing bacteria and viruses that reside along the spine.

Essential Oils Used

Only Young Living Oils are used in the Raindrop Technique. This is due to the following reasons: The guarantee of quality offered by Young Living Oils The dedication that goes into their essential oils production The extent and stringency of their quality checks on all oils The fact that their oils are the correct chemo-types for performing the Raindrop Technique

Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils

Therapeutic grade essential oils are determined by their production processes. This involves using low temperature, low pressure steam distillation, which ensures the retention of the true fingerprint of the essential oil. Young Living Oils go a step further, with their own extensive research into the ideal growing and distillation procedures for each of their essential oils. For example, Cypress (Cupresses Sempervirens) is an oil commonly used in Raindrop Technique. Young Living has discovered the Cypress oil must be distilled for 24hours due to the fact that 18 of the key constituents are not released until the last 20 minutes of distillation. Commercial cypress oil is cooked for only 2 hours and 15 minutes, so it misses out on many of these active constituents.

Pure, Unadulterated Essential Oils

During a typical Raindrop Technique, you will receive, on average, 100 to 140 drops of essential oil neat on your body and only top quality natural essential oils are used. Young Living Oils guarantee that all of their essential oils are unadulterated, and free from synthetic constituents. This is essential for Raindrop Technique, in order to avoid any potential skin reaction to the adulterants often present in regular commercial essential oils. No chemicals are used at any point in the production of Young Living Oils, that includes during growing of the plant, harvesting, distillation, and bottling. This means that there is no chance that chemical additives will harm you or irritate your skin during Raindrop Technique, or reduce the potency of your technique.

The Steps of Raindrop Technique

Raindrop Technique is conducted in silence. Without the distractions of sound and talking, you are able to sink into a deep state of rest, relaxation and self-connection. In this state, inner shifts may more easily take place.

There are four steps to Raindrop Technique:

Step One: The first step is simply an Energy Balancing Step. The Young Living Essential Oils blend of Valor is applied to your feet, and your feet are held. This step can take anywhere between a few minutes and up to 10 minutes. Valor helps to balance electrical energies in your body and your aura, promoting a deep state of relaxation. Step Two: This step uses Vitaflex Technique, the ancient Tibetan form of reflexology, in conjunction with various Young Living essential oils. Vitaflex originated in Tibet thousands of years ago, long before acupuncture was developed. Unlike reflexology, Vitaflex Technique is designed to send an electrical pulse along the nerve pathways of your body. The pulse reaches areas of your body where there is a break in the electrical circuit caused by toxins, damaged tissues or loss of oxygen.

Vitaflex Technique involves a distinctive movement of the hands and fingers, and sends you into an even deeper state of relaxation as the essential oils combine with the electrical pulses to uplift your body and mind, and release tension, congestion and imbalances. Step Three: You are then positioned face down, and essential oils are dropped onto your back and spine from a height of approximately 15cm. This means that the oils are interacting with your bodys energy field (your aura) even before they contact your physical body, producing an intensified effect. The oils are then massaged into your back using a variety of massage techniques and Vitaflex moves. Step Four: Your are then positioned face up, and for this step your head is cupped and your body is rocked using a specific movement of the fingers around your occiput, where your skull joins the neck. This movement effectively pumps the lymphatic fluid of the body. The Young Living essential oils used most commonly in the technique include: Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cyprus, Wintergreen or Birch, Marjoram, Peppermint and the blends Valor and Aromasiez. However, according to your individual needs, other oils may be added or substituted as required, including oils for supporting emotional balance. Please note that because of the importance of using only the highest quality essential oils and the correct chemo-types, Raindrop Technique is taught and performed with Young Living essential oils. Please do not attempt Raindrop Technique without appropriate training, or with any other brand of essential oils.
