Optimum Braking Performance The TMB-60s proprietary, AAR-approved design reduces bending loads in the beams. The air cylinder is mounted parallel to the brake beams and transfers forces through two bell cranks. Push rods are positioned under the bolster. This design improves efficiency by aligning the braking forces with the wheels, which results in a field-proven reduction in brake shoe and wheel wear, and delivers the most uniform wear of any design available. Lower Costs with Less Weight TMB-60 is designed to be lightweight system, yet its new cast beams, the lightest #28 beams in the industry, are rugged and exceptionally strong, weighing only 850 pounds per car set. Easily Replaceable Brake Heads & Shoes A key feature is TMB-60's replaceable brake heads, which do not require disassembly of the truck for replacement, and uses standard 2-inch brake shoes. Integral Double-Acting Slack Adjuster TMB-60s integral double-acting slack adjuster maintains a constant 2-inch piston stroke, resulting in uniform and efficient braking performance. Its design allows a total take-up travel of 16 inches. The integrated slack adjuster / brake cylinder is a direct-acting system that does not require external triggers.
