Learning objectives : Subtract mixed numbers with the same denominators. Learning outcomes Specific outcomes : Subtract two mixed number with the same denominators up to 10. : Pupils able to solve 7 questions out of 9 questions given.

Teaching and learning activities Teacher asks pupils stand up. Those who can answer the multiply question can sit down. Teacher write question about addition of proper fractions with different denominator.
Step 2 Lesson development ( 15 Min ) Explanation on concept of subtraction of mixed number. Discussion on the procedure for subtraction.

Step 3 Group activity ( 12 Min ) Test on pupils understanding. Pupils solve in front.
1. Teacher write question on the board. 2. Then teacher asks pupils to solve the question in group. Those who finished first can come in front and write their solution in front. 3. There are 5 question and pupils require to try all questions. 4. 2 marks will be awarded to the groups if they answer correctly but if they are wrong, one mark will be deducted. 1. Teacher asks pupils to do the exercise in the textbook on page 48 (Question number 1a to 1i). 2. Pupils ask the teacher if they have any problems while completing the task. 3. Teacher walks around the class and guide individually those who have not understand clearly about the topic. 1. Teacher concludes the topic today.
