ELECTRONIC TAPE HEADING REPEATER AND RATE OF TURN INDICATOR INTRODUCTION This unit is used to interface and display ships rate of turn and heading from the gyro or magnetic compass. The screen presentation of a moving tape allows the instrument to be used for position keeping. As the displays primary function you will have a Digital representation of the rate of turn (ROT) with arrows showing the direction. Also there is an ROT bar which will indicate an ROT up to 100 degrees Port and Starboard. Other screens which are selectable are the standard Moving Tape, the Off Course Alarm and Large Digital. Screen selection, illumination and control are via a tactile six-button keypad.

NMEA 0183, all heading sentences, with gyro priority. NMEA 0183 $HEHDT,x.x,T cr and $HEROT. Rate 1 per second and whenever heading changes. 3 x 5v CMOS ports to sink or source 5 mA. Alarm output as default. Options: A 5 volt low power audible alarm. Stepper 5v to drive a step amplifier or electronic interface. Cetrek data, Furuno data, Yokogawa data. 166 x 41 mm viewing area. Variable brightness, keypad control. Presentation screens: Tape; width +/- 15 degrees and +/- 12.5 degrees. Tape traverse rate 20 deg/second independent of input. Large digital 41 mm high. Digital ROT with ROT bar graph +/- 100 deg/minute. Off Course Alarm will give a visual alarm the heading strays outside the window set around desired course. 24 volts at 12 watts. Switch on surge 2 amps. Diecast enclosure 260 x 160 x 90 mm IP55 rating with trunnion or optional flush mount.
