Volume 3, Issue 6 March 2012

Pastors Points to Ponder

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in Gods grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3 As Dianne and I get ready to celebrate our third Easter with you, Pauls words reflect our hearts. We have great joy as we see the development of your partnership with us in the ministry of Jesus Christ in this community. We are catching the vision to be the body of Christ rooted in Jesus Christ, growing in the truth of His word, and reaching the community with the Good News of Christ. I have said on numerous occasions that we exist for two reasons: to make new disciples of Christ and to become better disciples. As we as believers continue to grow and mature in Christlikeness, we should be seeking to share with our friends and loved ones the new life we have found in Jesus. This Easter season we will be helping you in your efforts to reach out to those you know who need the Lord. In addition to our Easter service April 8, we will be having our childrens Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday April 7. This is a perfect nonthreatening opportunity for you to invite unchurched families with children. Details can be found page 2. Then on April 14, the week after Easter, we will be showing the movie Courageous. I strongly recommend this film for anyone you know who desires to strengthen their family. This movie will especially challenge fathers. Courageous is a film for school children to grandparents. There will be no charge. We will have tickets available March 25 which you can give to those you would like to invite . If you can place an advertising poster at your work, please let me know. On Sunday April 15, I will begin a sermon series on the family entitled Becoming a Courageous Family. This series will focus on the topics of marriage and parenting with Gods plan. I think you will agree these are topics that need a Biblical perspective in these times. God has begun a new work in us here at Little Paint and His desire is that we carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Lets be praying for these events that those we ask to come will be open to our invitation and that Gods Spirit will anoint these efforts to reach unbelievers for Jesus Christ. Praying with joy because of our partnership in the Gospel, Pastor Jeff

Youth Spaghetti Dinner

Our high school students have the opportunity this summer to attend the International Youth Convention (IYC) in Denver, Colorado. IYC is all about life change. This IYC students are going to dig deep into an entire theme chapter. Romans 8 will be the foundation, and the theme is LIVE! LIVEfree, LIVEawakened, LIVE empowered, LIVEconnected. While these trips are somewhat costly to attend due to travel expenses, they are absolutely worth every penny. You can have a part in this life -changing event for these students. First of all, begin to pray for each student who will attend. Pray for Gods Spirit to minister and speak to their hearts clearly. Pray that they will respond and make decisions that will be lifechanging. Secondly, you can help them by supporting upcoming fundraising events. Sunday, March 25, the youth will host a spaghetti dinner immediately following the morning worship service. Please stay and support the youth with your attendance and give a generous donation to help pay their expenses. LIVE 2012 IYC Theme LIVEfree LIVEawakened LIVEempowered LIVEconnected.

Church Web Site

In an effort to have a better presence on the Internet, we are in the process of changing over our blog site to an official web site. When we are ready to reveal our new look, we will provide you with our domain name. Understanding that the Internet has become the new Yellow Pages, we are excited about this step which will enable seekers to find us more easily. The web site will allow us to take advantage of many great tools including posting audio files of sermon series, creating photo albums, and to have the church directory password protected on-line and available to church members.

If you are unable to come on a Saturday but have time during the week that you could work on a project, feel free to call the church office and work out a time convenient for you. Bring rakes, rags, shovels, and other tools you feel might be helpful.

There are many projects that need to be done. There is a job for everyone from light work such as polishing the furniture in the sanctuary to heavier work like hauling away fallen trees in the

Church Directory Coming Soon

The directory is about completed, but we are in need of a few of your pictures.
As most of you know, family pictures were taken as a fund raiser for the youth attending the International Youth Convention in July. (Special thanks to Bonita Rice, Sharon Conley & Kelli Holbrook for their time, talents, and energy!) Plans are to use those family pictures to create a new and much-needed church directory. The directory is about completed, but we are in need of a few of your pictures. If you did not have a family picture made, we want to be sure to include you in the directory. Bonita has agreed to be available to take make-up pictures for a couple Sundays. If you would like to provide the church office with a picture we can scan to include in the directory, please submit it to Dianne White. Prior to printing the directory, we will be asking everyone to verify their information for accuracy. Your help will be appreciate to ensure we get this booklet as accurate as possible. Be watching for details soon!
