Their lawyers Valerie Neita Robertson and Linton Walters complained that persons were actually serving sentences before bail applications were made or before trial dates were set. N e i t a Robertson said she was extremely concerned about the latitude which the Bench gave to the prosecution in regards to trial dates and adjournments. She pointed out that accused persons had to wait two to three months before dates were set for bail applications and that was in breach of the constitution and the Bail Act. Ninja Man, whose real name is Desmond Ballentine, and his son had been in custody since March 2009. A trial date has been set for July 16 in the Home Circuit Court. They are charged with the murder of Richard Johnson who was shot dead in his yard on March 16, 2009. Supreme Court Judge Christine McDonald granted Ninja Man and his son bail in the sum of $2 million each with three sureties. They have been placed under curfew. Ninja Man is to report to the Oracabessa police station, St Mary, every day except on Sundays. Janiel is also to report to the HalfWay Tree police station six times each week.

RELATIONSHIP ADVICE with Father Linkage

Why Men Cheat
Are wives to be blamed for their spouses cheating? Is there something lacking at home? Is it because when it comes to men and sex, neither emotion nor meaning necessarily enter the equations? quick escape from a problem, but its only an anesthetic not a long-term solution. Most men are looking for women who makes them feel appreciated and valued, at times they dont know how to express themselves when they are emotionally starved. So women dont let the hugging, cuddling and kissing disappear because it will drive them to look for things that boost their self-esteem. When they discover that other women still desires them sexually, their ego swells and before they know it, their self-awareness to understand their vulnerability and take responsibility for what they are doing is not thought of because they like what they are getting. Communication is a key ingredient in a relationship, listen to your mate and talk about whatever is bothering you, do less quarrelling. As the old saying goes, what a man to do when his woman-a-nagging and opportunity comes-a-knocking. Remember there is always a woman out there willing to cheat with him. Its out there you can order it like a pepperoni pizza. All this happen because he is not getting the love he desires at home. Women need to explore their sexuality to be more curious about men and gain the knowledge and skills to make them a great lover. When he does not get the kind of message or feedback he is looking for he starts to look around. Cheating is wrong I must admit, but

The tendency to cheat, whether you are married or unmarried, has nothing to do with the woman that the man is cheating on, but it has to do with these men and what they desire at that point in their life. Most men are driven by a powerful natural force to seek variety and fantasy when it comes to sexual partner. The desire to be liked and attractiveness to women is one of the most significant way through which men are able to validate their masculinity and sense of self-worth. No matter how wonderful their girlfriends or wives are they will not stop pursuing new interactions with women and new sexual experiences. NEW York, USA The lawyer representing convicted Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher Dudus Coke is standing by controversial statements alleging complicity between United States (US) authorities and the Jamaican government in bringing charges against, and subsequently extraditing, his client. Notwithstanding that the claims have outraged the Jamaican Diaspora here, attorney Stephen H Rosen, in an interview, was adamant he is correct in his assessment. Rosen said the only part of his comments that he was prepared to retract was a reference to the US Secretary of State not wanting the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) to win the last general election. I meant the State Department, not Secretary of State, he said in a follow-up interview last week. Rosen said that the previous Peoples National Party (PNP) government had a close relationship with the US State and Justice Departments and charged that politics was re-

many women are simply not good enough in bed to make their partner sexually happy, excited and satisfied. They just dont know what they are doing with their bodies, hands and mouth. Few men will stick around with a mediocre sex partner. Some men may feel that because their lady cheated on them it gives them a justifiable reason for them to do wrong. Adultery is slowly becoming such a defensible misdeed, that most women are catching up to men in the game of infidelity. Then they claim the woman let us. One of the first acts by the US after the JLP took office was to issue a request for Mr Cokes extradition, the attorney noted. Asked if he could provide evidence to support his charges, Rosen referred to the controversial wiretap Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) between the Jamaican and US governments, as well as information on the matter which he said are contained in documents from the Supreme Court of Jamaica. Also, a study published in the Journal of Natural Products, following a recent study conducted at the Catholic University of South Korea, stated that a certain chemical found in Soursop can selectively kill colon cancer cells at almost ten thousand times the potency of drugs commonly used for chemotherapy. PNP Wins Local Government Elections
The ruling Peoples National Party (PNP) has won the 2012 Local Government Elections, gaining 149 seats to the Opposition Jamaica Labour Partys (JLP) 76, with Independents winning the other two. The elections, which were held on March 26, saw the PNP winning 12 of the 13 parish councils, including the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC). There was a tie in the Trelawny Parish Council with the PNP and the JLP winning four seats each, and the Independent candidate taking the other seat. In the Portmore Municipal Council, the PNP also took control of the municipality. The contest also saw the ruling partys George Lee unseating the JLPs Keith Hinds as the Mayor of Portmore. This is the second time in three months that the JLP is losing a national election, as on December 29, 2011, the PNP won the General Elections by gaining 42 seats to the JLPs 21 seats. We have done it again, Prime Minister and President of the PNP, the Most Hon Portia Simpson Miller said. NEW YORK In the fall of 2010, the FBI and New York Police Department were working together on a terrorism investigation on Long Island. The cyber case had been open for more than a year at the U.S. attorneys office in Brooklyn. So, the Justice Department was surprised when, without notice, the NYPD went to federal prosecutors in Manhattan and asked them to approve a search warrant in the case. The top counterterrorism agent at the FBI in New York at the time, Greg Fowler, hit the roof. When two agencies dont coordinate, it increases the risk that the investigation and any prosecution could be compromised. In an email response, Fowler prohibited his agents from sharing information with the NYPDs intelligence unit. He also suspended the weekly management meetings of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the primary pipeline through which information flows to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. It slowed to a trickle. The episode was recalled by current and former NYPD and FBI officials who, like most who discussed this issue, spoke on condition of anonymity to describe sensitive law enforcement cases. It was not merely a low point in a relationship already littered with low points. It highlights how the dysfunctional partnership jeopardizes cases and sometimes national security. Jamaica - Immense pressure from the cops in the St Catherine North Police Division has forced the reputed leader of the One Order Gang and his right-hand man to flee the island by boat. Word has been circulating that the men left the island a short time after the General Election. Police sources while being tight-lipped about this confirmed that they had received word that the men had fled. Linkage Linkz News-

One Order Gang Leader Flee Jamaica By Boat

Jamaica It appears that more than half the 150 candidates who contested the 2011 general election are now in trouble with the law. The executive director of National Integrity Action Limited, Professor Trevor Munroe, is reporting that 96 of the candidates are yet to file their returns to account for their election spending. Professor Munroe said this is despite the fact that the candidates were granted a onemonth extension to March 16.

Under the Represen-tation of the People Act, candidates are to file their returns to the electoral body within six weeks of the holding of the poll. Professor Munroe said he will be writing to the Electoral Commission and the Director of Public Prosecutions asking that action be initiated against the delinquent politicians. According to Professor Munroe, this it is not the first time politicians are flouting the law after an election.

The One Order Gang has been relatively quiet over the last two years; however, there have been reports of an upsurge in criminal activities in communities dominated by the gang. Since the start of the year, the police have ramped up their crime fighting tactics with curfews, spot checks and targeted raids in

The relationship between the FBI and the NYPD particularly the NYPD Intelligence Division is among the most studied collaborations in all law enforcement. In the New York media, the fighting and personalities are frequently covered like a dysfunctional celebrity marriage, with perceived betrayal and reconciliation spilling into the news. The dispute is not trivial. At its core, it is based on fundamental disagreements between the nations largest police force and the nations premier counterterrorism agency. As the NYPD has transformed itself into one of the nations most aggressive intelligence agencies and has spied on Muslims in ways that would be prohibited for the FBI, the rift has widened. The result is that, in Americas largest city, the NYPD and FBI are at times working at cross-purposes. Documents show that the NYPD conducted surveillance on mosques outside its jurisdiction, recording license plates of worshippers as they came and went. On its own, the NYPD has tried its hand at counterintelligence, the clandestine world that within the United States is run by the FBI under a presidential order. The issue is especially relevant now following criticism from the top FBI agent in New Jersey, who said the NYPDs spying in his state had jeopardized national security because it made people afraid to cooperate with law enforcement.

Dancehall superstar Mavado has finally broken his silence on his non-show for a performance in New Jersey on March 10th. According to Mavado, he was looking forward to thrilling his New Jersey fans, where he had not performed for 3 years. The event, Grammy Kids Anniversary, was well promoted and the buzz around the show was good. Early management team has implemented contractual obligations and promoter screening systems to ensure that payment of performance fee is no longer an issue and indeed there was no issue around promoters LKQ Entertainment not paying the Artist fee. Mavado was well rested, focused and looking forward to giving a great show. Mavado had worked with the promoter on a prior occasion and whilst things were not as smooth as one would have liked, in terms of organization, the previous event was overall a success and the decision was taken to move ahead with the event in New Jersey. However these organizational issues were once again quickly evident on the night of March 10. The promoter of the event told Mavados travel party that pickup time was midnight, to arrive at the venue no later than 12.30am, go on stage at 1am and perform for an hour to comply with opening hours. Daylight saving time was kicking in the early hours of Sunday morning, which meant the clocks were to go forward at 2am, making it immediately 3am. Mavado readied himself to be picked up at midnight as instructed; only to be told that his management had received a call from LKQ Entertainment that new pick up time was 1am. Wary of the time change and the potential for Mavados fans to be cheated out of a full performance, Mavados management were perturbed and as time ticked by as they waited in the hotel lobby sent out this Tweet: 1.40am an we still waitin for promoter to For several years, many Dancehall fans have wondered when one of the genres first ladies would ever make a comeback and why she disappeared from the spotlight. Sizzla, whose real name is Miguel Collins, was pulled due to mounting pressure from the gay community. The event Reggae Compassionate Act was slated for Wednesday, March 28 at the Hornstull Strand and should have featured dancehall artiste Sizzla. However, he was pulled by the organizers as a result of the public outcry that his messages were a breach of their code of conduct. The members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community said that the dreadlocked artistes lyrics advocated violence towards them. The shows organizers were forced to take notice of the groups petition. This was not the first complaint made by that community against Kalonji. Little Carl Washington IV desperately wants to return to school, play sports and be a good big brother to his three siblings but first he needs a new heart. The 7-year-old Bronx boy has bounced in and out of the Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital of New York-Presbyterian in Washington Heights since December. He suffers from complex congenital heart disease, a condition he was born with. The condition has recently worsened and his only hope is to get a donated heart, said his mother Keisha,

Carl IVs mom, a Bronx school teacher, and father, Carl III, 29, who works in maintenance management, have taken turns spending the night at his hospital bedside. But its seeing his 2-year-old sister, and two brothers, ages 6 and 4, that makes little Carl most happy. Hes still a kid. He wants to be home with his brothers and sister, his father said as his son lay beneath a blanket decorated with images of Iron Man, Captain America and Incredible Hulk. But Carl IV didnt let being confined to bed stop him from being a good big brother. Did Cameron do his homework? he asked his parents about one of his brothers. Whats she doing? he asked of his sister, who was eating chips. Hes even made some bedside requests: he wants his brothers to bring him his action figure of WWE wrestler John Cena. And when asked what he wants to do once he gets his new heart, Carl IV didnt hesitate:

For the second time in just over a year, Bronx pastor Michael Clare has been hit with charges that he had sex with an underage girl, this time for allegedly raping a 14-year-old who was a student at Harvest Preparatory Academy, where Clare had been the principal. In what could be perceived as a big screw you to the justice system, its alleged that some of the abuse of the latest victim happened while Clare was free on bail in his previous case -- again, where hes accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. Bronx District Attorney spokesman Melvin Hernandez stated that Clare, 40, was arrested after a court hearing related to the previous charges. He was arraigned on the new charges one count each of second-degree rape, sexual misconduct, third-degree criminal sexual act, endangering the welfare of a child, and three counts of sexual abuse. In Clares previous case, he allegedly impregnated a teenage member of his congregation whom hed been sexually abusing since she was just 12 years old. He was offered a plea deal that would have landed him in the slammer for a mere two years a plea deal he rejected last March. The victims baby was aborted, and investigators have reportedly matched the DNA from the fetus to Clare. According to the new indictment, Clare sexually assaulted the girl on at least three occasions between June 22, 2009 and June 30, 2011. Prosecutors say the assaults took

Easter is fast approaching when we reflect and celebrate Jesus death, burial and resurrection. Through the laying down of His life He gave us the priveledge to become children of God. The path to the cross was not easy. The cost of going to the cross is too much for our finite minds to calculate. Jesus felt all the pain and humiliation as a human being. He went with the full knowledge of what He had to accomplish.

Matthew 16:21 King James Version (KJV) From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. In spite of the ungrateful and disrespectful behaviour of many people and the religious leaders of the day, Jesus was determined to do the will of the Father. He was not distracted from His purpose! He came to preach the gospel, conquer death and the grave and redeem mankind! Philippians 2:8 King James Version (KJV) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

He tells us about the work of the enemy and the opposite accomplishment He came for in Johns record John 10:10 King James Version (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The life Jesus gave us, is not just abundant but eternal! It goes on forever without end! He has given this wonderful gift to every human being that has been or will be born on planet Earth, but it is for us to accept.

1 Corinthians 1:18 King James Version (KJV) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

awaiting the next move by prosecutors in the case. A week ago, Friday, the Coke defence team seemed to have won a major victory when Judge Joseph P Patterson ruled that prosecutors had not provided sufficient evidence to support their request for the imposition of the maximum 23-year prison sentence being sought under a pleabargain agreement. The parties are to return to court on May 22. Rosen has indicated that the defence could go into the discovery process if evidence to back certain claims by prosecutors are produced.

resentation for my client, he said. Rosen also accused the previous PNP government of misleading the Supreme Court on the wiretap evidence. Outside a Manhattan courtroom where he first made most of his charges two Fridays ago, Rosen sought to debunk claims that Cokes removal from Jamaica had led to a reduction in crimes there. They moved him out, an election is called, the old government is voted out and a new one takes over, yet there are more murders in the first few days than before, he charged. But in a sharp response, Irwin

Clare, who heads the Jamaica Diaspora Advisory Board for the Northeast United States, described Rosens comments as an insult to the intelligence of Jamaicans. He said that there was no evidence of US interference by way of preference in the last elections, which he described as fair and clean. Clare said that while he understands Rosens right to do the best for his client, he should not use his position to attack our democracy and democratic institutions. But Rosen said that we can prove the charge of complicity. He said that Cokes defence team is now

amaicans are reveling in nostalgic foray worldwide for the highly acclaimed celebrations of Jamaicas 50th year of independence. The year 1962 to present-day achievements holds great significance. The pride and stamina on which our nation was built bears stark resemblance to the determination and strength portrayed by our notable predecessors whose enigmatic presence is so surreal it is no wonder our a sense of gratification in 2012 is expected to be momentous. However, my 6th sense tells me that while we are planning this gigantic festive event, there are those that might not be recognized in hindsight because we are focused on our commemorative years rather than our achievers of the pre-independence era who brought outstanding recognition to our nation. For this reason I have taken the onus to portray these important people for all to see. Una Maud Victoria Marson (5 May 1905 1965) born in Santa Cruz, Jamaica, in the parish of St. Elizabeth was a Jamaican feminist, activist and writer, producing poems, plays and programmes for the BBC. Marson traveled to London in 1932 and worked for the BBC during World War II. Marson returned to Jamaica in 1936, where one of her goals was to promote national literature. One step she took in achieving this goal was to help create the Kingston Readers and Writers Club, as well as the Kingston Drama Club. She also founded the Jamaica Save the Children Fund, an organization that raised funds to give the poorer children money to get a basic education. Claude McKay (September 15, 1889-May 22, 1948) was a Jamaican-American writer and poet. He was a seminal figure in the Harlem Renaissance and wrote three novels: Home to Harlem (1928), a best-seller which won the Harmon Gold Award for Literature, Banjo (1929), and Banana Bottom (1933). Andrew Salkey (January 30, 1928 - April 28, 1995) A prolific writer and editor, Salkey was the author of over 30 books in the course of his career, including novels for adults and for children, poetry collections, anthologies, travelogues, and essays. In the latter part of his life he was a professor in writing at Hampshire College in Amherst. Herbert George de Lisser CMG (9 December 1878 19 May 1944) was a Jamaican journalist and author. The White Witch of Rosehall (1929), Psyche (1952), Morgans Daughter (1953), Revenge (1919), and The Arawak Girl (1958), are classified as historical because their main action occurs either during the nineteenth century or long before. The action in The Arawak Girl goes back to the period of the fourth voyage of Columbus which left him marooned in Jamaica between June 1503 and June 1504; the other four novels are set mainly in the nineteenth century. He was appointed Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George (CMG) in the 1920 New Year Honours. He was awarded the silver and gold Musgrave medals (19551978), the Order of Jamaica (1980) and the Norman Manley Award for Excellence in Literature in 1981. So shall My Word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55: 11 The Question is: Mother, do actions speak louder than words? They hold equal weight (energy, power) and operate in different ways, on different frequencies. We are responsible for our words and our actions. We send a word forward with the intention of creating or conveying an idea or message, in hopes to influence the recipient to respond a certain way. Example: Major (money-making) companies pay top dollar for advertising experts to market their idea(s) using the right words and pictures. Radio advertisements are a group of words A Brother proposing marriage to his Queen uses a group of words A supervisor uses a group of words to dismiss (terminate) the employee You anticipate a group of words from a company in hopes to be hired. Just as In the beginning was The Word John 1:1 and all things came from The Word. Thoughts are the invisible form of

The words (texts) are translated into crypt (codes) and beamed forward trillionsXtrillions of miles, busting through the ozone layer and piercing through the electromagnetic field of the earth, until they (words/ texts) make contact with a certain (rented) portion of the satellite, at which point the satellite locates the recipient of the message and beams the message back to earth all this is done because of the power of words in thought and in action! Your thought/words translates/ transforms/and supports your actions, which produce the desired effect/purpose that you intended. So if actions speak louder than words, it is because the energy behind the thought/words is giving it (action) the invisible energy, encouragement, and support that it needs to be effective and stay effective. In the meantime, the energy of these words (conversations) are permeating and floating in the atmosphere, maintaining or increasing in energy (intensity). ost people know that, except for a few exceptions, negative items will stay on your credit report for around 7 years. The 7 years is generally measured from a date referred to as the date of last activity. The further along an item gets down that 7 year stretch, the less of an effect it will have on your credit score. The newer a derogatory item is, the more damaging to your score it will be. Re-aging occurs when dates on your credit report are (usually purposely) changed to make a negative item seem newer and therefore more damaging. This is a common practice of creditors, collection agencies, and (seemingly) even credit bureaus and its illegal! The Federal Trade Commission has sued collection agencies before over re-aging (among other things), and as with many aspects of negative credit reporting, the credit bureaus and collectors arent exactly innocent either. It benefits ALL of

Re-Aging What Is It And How Is Costing You?

them if negative information stays on your credit report longer. They all get financial benefit from your credit looking worse than it actually is. Some have argued that re-aging could be accidental. However, the nature of the problem becomes clear when we realize that (as with many credit report errors), re-aging almost NEVER happens in the consumers favor. We say almost to allow for that slim chance that an item gets reaged in such a way as to help the consumer. We have never, EVER, in over 15 years of researching credit, heard of re-aging happening to the benefit of the consumer, leading us to believe that it is done intentionally and with the intention of damaging the consumers credit.

It keeps negative items on your report longer, keeping you in sub-prime status as long as possible.

So how does re-aging hurt your credit score? The main ways re-aging can hurt is: It makes a negative item look newer, making it more damaging to your score than if it were allowed to age properly.

The key to fighting re-aging is knowing how to detect it. Its important to learn the dates involved in credit reporting and watch your credit reports closely for signs of re-aging. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to give us a call or email info@hishercredit.com or call us at 1-888-807-1892. Thanks

It can make accounts look newer for collection purposes, making it easier for them to pass accounts around and inflict more damage to your credit score.

The appeal of dancehall artist Buju Banton, convicted of drug trafficking charges, takes yet another turn, with Bantons attorney David Oscar Markus accusing federal authorities of excessive and vindictive treatment of the case. The presentation of the facts... is untethered to the record and is so riddled with inaccuracies and misleading statements that it would be nearly impossible to address all of them, stated the appeal document. Such accusations were made in response to the Department of Justices reply to Buju Bantons filed appeal, which argued that not only was the courts decision valid, but also recommended that Bantons dropped gun charge be added to his prison sentence. Markus in response argued for the drug charges to be dropped due to the purposeful entrapment by Alex Johnson, a former drug trafficker turned prosecution witness who testified against Banton in exchange for leniency. U.S. And Jamaica Work Together To Fight Organized Crime

A U.S. delegation visiting Jamaica recently confirmed a new joint program to fight the drug trade in Jamaica. The new collaboration is the latest show of the countries renewed partnership against organized crime, after the controversial 2010 extradition of Jamaican drug lord, Christopher Dudus Coke, severely soured U.S. and Jamaica relations. Deputy assistant secretary for western hemisphere affairs, Julissa Reynoso, stated to reporters that the new strategy would focus on the U.S. plan to send legal experts to help Jamaican ministries build their capacity to combat organized crime. Broadly speaking, we know that there are individuals and organized crime elements here that need to be brought to justice, said Reynoso to local reporters. Reynoso however refused to comment on alleged reports of additional U.S. extradition requests for Jamaican drug dons, which have persisted since the sudden stepping down of former Prime Minister, Bruce Golding. Healing wounds? Despite the publically strained relations between the U.S. government and the former Bruce Golding administration over the Christopher Dudus Coke extradition, Reynoso insisted that the countries relationship was never in jeopardy. The U.S. had a very fruitful and constructive relationship with Prime Minister Goldings government, recalled Reynoso. Reynoso however had previously visited Jamaica in January 2010, during the tense environment leading up to Cokes extradition. She was also among the many U.S. officials that had advised the Bruce Golding administration that the U.S. would not back down from its extradition request for Dudus Coke. Regarding U.S. relations with the newly elected government, led by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, Reynoso gave assurance that the U.S. was looking forward to having a good and constructive relationship with the new government.

A three-time senior World Cup Finals participant, Costa Rica were edged out of the South Africa Finals, 2-1, by two-time champions Uruguay when they were being coached by Rene Simoes in 2009. Since then, this era, under the guidance of Colombian coach Jorge Luis Pinto, has been characterized by friendlies against top-ranked teams, such as Spain, with whom they drew 2-2 at home late last year. They were also beaten 1-0 by the most successful team in world football, Brazil, also at home, late last year. The drew 0-0 with Argentina last March, before losing 0-3 to the same opponents in the Copa America in Colombia. Since this year, they have beaten Wales, 1-0, in Wales, and Venezuela, 2-0, in that South American country. History favors the visitors in their head-to-head match-ups with the Reggae Boyz, except for the friendly games. The teams first met on March 24, 1963 in a CONCACAF Championship in El Salvador in which Costa Rica blanked Jamaica, 6-0. Since then, Jamaica have managed just four wins, 10 losses and seven draws, while registering a miserly 14 strikes, compared to 43 conceded.

DHAKA, Bangladesh (AP): Pakistan won their second Asia Cup cricket title when they beat Bangladesh by two runs in a thrilling final yesterday. In a match which riveted fans to the final ball, Pakistan tallied 236-9 in their 50 overs, then stalled Bangladesh on 234-8 in a raucous Mirpur Sher-eBangla National Stadium. In a dramatic final over, Bangladesh needed nine to win. Pakistan messed up when they conceded three runs off the third-to-last ball with a wayward throw and an overthrow. That left four to win off two balls. But then Abdur Razzak played a slower ball off fast bowler Aizaz Cheema onto his stumps, stranding the in-form Mahmadullah at the non-strikers end. New batsman Shahadat Hossain had to hit four runs off the last ball to give Bangladesh their maiden Asia Cup title, but he managed a yorker on leg stump with only a leg bye, causing the Pakistanis to jump around in joy.

A war of words broke out at the GNLD International conference room on Old Hope Road when Sakima Mullings, the Commonwealth Boxing Council zonal middleweight champion and Devon Concrete Moncrieffe, the challenger, met for a formal signing of contracts for their March 31 title fight at the YMCA auditorium on Hope Road. Moncrieffe, who was the runner-up in the first Contender series for middleweights, threw down the gauntlet when he stated that Mullings had been hiding from him, but the wait had been worth it, because on March 31 he would be taking the title from him. It will be war, he declared, and referring to the fact that Mullings usually speaks near-perfect English, Moncrieffe declared, When I lick him on March 31, him going to talk Patois. He further stated that he has dedicated himself to boxing and wanted to be a world champion, so winning the zonal title would be a

Both Guyanese batsmen have also exhibited considerable bowling prowess and have made pressing cases for West Indies selection for the upcoming Test series against Australia. good first step. Mullings, in his usual laid-back style, gave a more moderate, but still strident response. Powerful threats Rumors are that I have been hiding or running away, but that is not true and I will be there waiting for him on March 31, he declared. He added: If you are tough as nails, you are going to be hammered, and if you are concrete, you are going to be demolished. This comment drew a smile from Moncrieffe, who responded by saying, We will see. Kevin Duffus, who manages Moncrieffe, added fuel to the fire when he told Mullings that in his last fight, he had seen two weaknesses that his boxer will be exploiting. I will not tell you what they are, but we are going to exploit them and then you will know, Duffus stated.

Pader, Uganda -- Pauline Oto still wears her faded yellow and green school dress, but she hasnt been to school for years and she cant comprehend what to do with the pen the community nurse has just given her. Write on my hand, says the nurse. Pauline just sits on the reed mat, her legs pulled to one side, and stares. She has just had an attack and cant speak. She struggles to comprehend her surroundings. Pauline, 13, has been struck by the dreaded nodding disease. Her mother, Grace Lagat, says it will take her at least four hours to recover from the seizures, and after each attack she seems less like the daughter she remembers. Her personality has changed greatly from before. She was normal when they were born. Now she just moves around and serves no purpose, Lagat says. Pauline, like more than 3,000 other children in Northern Uganda, has been struck by the mysterious syndrome that has doctors and scientists puzzled and have shattered lives in this rural community. Nodding disease gets its name from the strange nodding-like symptoms that children display in the first stages of a seizure. But doctors on the ground and at the U.S.-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say that is the least profound effect. Severe epilepsy-like seizures grip the children, they struggle to eat, and they become shells of their former selves. It is a progressive and debilitating syndrome that robs children of their future. The seizures are triggered in strange ways, say community members, such as when unfamiliar food is brought to the children or when the weather changes. There are other bizarre symptoms. Often the children will wander off by themselves and get lost in the bush. And other children will start fires, according to parents and medics in the field. Others appear confused and traumatized. We were told that several houses in areas we visited had been burnt down by children suffering from nodding disease. More than 200 deaths have been reported from these secondary incidents. Once, Pauline vanished for five days. Now, to protect her children Lagat ties them up when she leaves.

Mysterious Nodding Disease Debilitates President Obama speaks out about Trayvon Children Martin shooting
Teenager was shot by a neighborhood watchman while he was on his way home President Obama spoke out on Friday for the first time about the shooting of unarmed Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, saying when he thought about the 17-year-old, he thought about his own children. I think all of us have to do some soul-searching to figure out how does something like this happen, the commander-in-chief said. And that means we examine the laws, the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident. He then offered a personal statement to Trayvons parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin. If I had a son hed look like Trayvon, he said. And I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves and that were going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened. The teen was shot and killed last month by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman who told police he was jumped and fired in selfdefense. Trayvon was unarmed, carrying only a bag of Skittles candy and an iced tea back to his fathers house. Obamas words came hours after Fulton and Martin appeared on CBS This Morning and said the neighborhood watchman hasnt reached out to them to speak about the incident that left their son dead. I have not heard from George Zimmerman, but this is an open investigation, Fulton said on the show. Im sure theyre going to be talking to him soon. They said they were grateful for the outpouring of support, especially from the Rev. Al Sharpton, who helped lead a large rally in Sanford, Fla., on

She pulls Pauline and her brother, Thomas, who also suffers from nodding disease, inside her hut and ties them with a colorful, local fabric. First, she ties their legs to a wooden pole and then their hands together like handcuffs. Thomas tears at them with his teeth. When I am going to the garden, I tie them with cloth. If I dont tie them I come back and find that they have disappeared, she says. Liberia, Sudan, and Tanzania have all suffered outbreaks of nodding disease over the years, but it first came to the attention of Ugandan authorities in 2009. A team from the World Health Organization team visited the region of Gulu and Kitgum and noticed a high incidence of the disturbing symptoms. It was quite desperate, I can tell you, says Dr. Joaquin Saweka, the WHO representative in Uganda. Imagine being surrounded by 26 children and 12 of them showing signs of this. The attitude was to quickly find a solution to the problem. Saweka and the Ugandan government mobilized teams from WHO, CDC, and local health teams. Right now there is no real solution. Nodding disease leads to epilepsy like symptoms, says the World Health Organization, but the cause is unknown and there is no cure. At first we cast the net wide. We ruled out three dozen potential causes and we are working on a handful of probabilities, says Dr. Scott Dowell, director of global disease detection and emergency response at CDC. This outbreak in Uganda is confined to the north and is not believed to be contagious, but from a public health standpoint it still has to be taken seriously. We know from past experience an unknown disease could end up having more global implications, says Dr. Dowell.

A Chinese bride burnt her new husband to death after he got into bed after a drunken argument without washing his feet. Wang and his wife, Luo, were married on February 2. The couple, from the central province of Hubei, had a fight on the night of March 4, and in frustration they together drank a bottle of liquor to ease their anger. At about 10 p.m., Luo watched her husband get into bed without cleaning or washing his feet. In a fit of anger

and intoxication, she set fire to the sheet he was sleeping in, the report said. When he awoke, the two began fighting before a very drunk Wang collapsed. As fire engulfed the bedroom. Luo escaped to the living room, leaving her other half to burn, it added. The woman has been arrested, Xinhua said.

Thursday despite losing his mother the day before. He had a big part in controlling the crowd, Martin said. To hear everyone out there in the crowd screaming Trayvons name, it just made us feel like Trayvons life did matter in the world. Zimmerman is believed to have been in hiding since shortly after the Feb. 26 shooting. Meanwhile, CBS News reported that police had spoken to Zimmerman for five hours on the night of the shooting, and again the next day at a reenactment of the incident. They did not arrest him, sources said, The 28-year-old neighborhood watch officer claimed that he had been jumped by Trayvon and felt threatened when he shot him which police say could be justified under Floridas Stand Your Ground law. Fulton said her son, who has been described by his peers as respectful and laid back, knew better than to confront a cop. She believes that he was scared and trying to remove himself from the situation after he noticed Zimmerman had been following him. Trayvon has a grandfather that is a retired police officer in Miami, so he knows about the police, hes not afraid of the police, she said. However, this guy is a stranger, so hes going to try to run, hes going to try to avoid the situation. According to multiple reports, Trayvons girlfriend has confirmed that she told him to run.
