April 2012
Our hearts seem to yearn to know the answer to the hard questions: Do you want me? Am I loved? Am I valuable?

R E N E W A L

And the cross gladly answers back:

You truly are loved (Psalm 103:11) You are so valuable (Matthew 10:31) You are wanted, treasured, and chosen (1 Peter 2:9) Renewal is the process of making something like new. True renewal can only come at the cross, where repentance must first take place. What if starting this Easter we chose to walk in the power of Easter, instead of just celebrating the day and packing up the decorations? Choosing to walk with a renewed hope. Reaching out to those around

us who so desperately need our help. Choosing instead of passing judgment, to reach out to our neighbor or someone we know is hurting. Choosing to give our time and resources by the planting of an orchard that will feed families, volunteering in the Real Life Center, or buying gently used items at the Real Life Store knowing that each purchase directly supports more families who need our help in OUR community. What if this Easter we chose to walk with love for our community and to practice neighbor helping neighbor; could we not renew a family, a community, and a nation?
