Every Christian needs to find their role in the kingdom of God because all of us have a part to play! God can use us in the church in two categories of ministry: Ministerial / spiritual roles (pulpit or other spiritual ministry 1 Cor.12:7-11) Organisational / Maintenance Role (1 Cor.12:28 governments, helps, etc) The psalmist said, If I could be a doorkeeper in your house There has to be distinction of roles if the church is going to function optimally: Acts 6:2-7 Serving tables Prayer and Ministry of the Word Roles in the church need to be clearly outlined: Who sets up instruments Who sets up seating Who does dcor Worship team and musicians Ministry team Leadership Etc. You need to look at the needs of the church and find your place in meeting a particular need of the church! FIND YOUR ROLE. FIND YOUR GIFT. FIND YOUR MINISTRY IN THE CHURCH. Were going to consider the following principles if youre going to be used of God: 1. Your Credentials 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 Philippians 3:7 IN ORDER TO BE USED OF GOD IN EFFECTIVE KINGDOM MINISTRY, YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU COME FROM, AND TAKE UP THE IDENTITY AND DESTINY THAT GOD GIVES YOU! Matthew 16:24 Deny yourself and follow Jesus!

Your qualifications to be used in the church (Acts 6:3): Good reputation Full of Spirit Full of wisdom God doesnt use flakes, or imitation children of God!

2. Your Gift: Everyone has a gift! GOD DOES NOT WANT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, HE WANTS YOUR GIFTS! - Your qualifications are secular or worldly, they will serve you and give you a foothold in the world system in terms of making a meaningful living. - But do not be deceived in thinking your qualifications will give you any special favour with God! Romans 12:6-8 - Redemptive / Charismatic gifts Everyone is born with one or more of these gifts, saint or sinner! - Prophecy - Ministry (Serving) - Teaching - Exhortation - Giving - Leadership - Mercy 1 Peter 4:10 We must use the gifts to serve and build the church and not for personal aggrandizement If all the gifts are not working in the church then it means the body is either: - Disabled - Maimed - Down Syndrome - Definitely has some deficiency But Christ is coming for a bride without blemish, spot or wrinkle. We have to be in optimal working condition! This means, that the growth of the church is directly related to the effective application and operation of all the gifts in the church. So, WHAT CAN YOU DO? Or WHAT DO YOU HAVE? (Exodus 4:2, 20).

3. Your Measure of Faith You cannot give what you do not have! Serve according to your gifting not more, not less! 1 Peter 4:10 Romans 12:3-4 FULFIL YOUR FUNCTION We all have different roles to fulfil. Each need to do what God had called them to do! Do not be jealous over someone elses anointing, gifting or ministry! - Can you rejoice over someone elses shine?

4. Dont Get Distracted Nehemiah 6:1-3 Acts 20:24 2 Timothy 4:5 THE DEVIL IS AFTER YOUR PURPOSE! - Matthew 16:21-26 - 1 Peter 5:8-9 - If the devil can get you to live outside your purpose, or keep you so preoccupied that you cannot fulfil your purpose it will leave your life in chaos and constant dissatisfaction (Romans 8:28)

5. A Servants Heart Matthew 20:27 Matthew 23:11 Luke 17:7-10: When we serve in the kingdom we do it unto the Lord.

When you minister in the kingdom, your reward is with God in various areas for this lifetime but also in heaven and for the worlds to come! - 1 Corinthians 15:58 - Matthew 6:19-21

CONCLUSION What is your gift? Ask God to show you where you need to work in His kingdom! Tell Him you are available you will be a vessel of honour in His house! __________________________________________________________________________________
