Whitehorn Playschool

Fall is fabulous at Playschool! We had wonderful weather for

a Pumpkin Hunt out in the field. We had a Happy Halloween
Party with many wonderful treats. Thank-you to all our parent
volunteers!

In November, we spent the month “Taking Care of Me”. We

specifically learned about good nutrition and we finished it all
up with a “Healthy Snack Day”. We are also starting to prepare
for special Winter and Christmas events.

We still have a few playschool spots available on Thursdays,

morning or afternoon. If your child is 3 or 4 years old please
call Ora at 272-8372 to register. Ask about the subsidy
applications we have available.

It’s all
about YOUR
Community!
We understand the
importance of community -
it’s not just a place where
you shovel snow, and hang
your hat at the end of a day.
It’s where you live. Where
your children grow up.
Where you are surrounded
by friends and neighbours.

And where you live makes

an enormous difference.
It’s a wonderful thing
when you are surrounded
by caring, supportive
neighbours in an active
community.

Your Community Association

plays an important role too!
They put on special events
and programs for residents
of all ages, promote active
living and recreation, work
towards the improvement
of the community.

Isn’t it time to get involved?

Yard of the Month
Congratulations to our December Yard of
the Month winners Leona and Herb Walker
of 4635 Whitehorn Drive NE

We moved to Whitehorn in 1978. Since then

we have gradually changed our yard,
putting in a retaining wall at the back, taking
out the fenced dog run the previous owners
had, bringing in top soil for a vegetable
garden, moving trees and plants around, and
installing brick sidewalks, etc.

We collect rain water and have a compost

bin. Many different birds visit our yard and
the bird bath. In summer we enjoy sitting
out in our shady back yard on the cool
