What students will be doing

Students will be working in their small groups to create a theatrical representation of a scene of their choice. They will be working with each other and using the internet to choose specific sets, wardrobe, and actors and all of this research will be compiled into a presentation that they will be working on in class. It can be a Prezi or PowerPoint presentation.

We will be taking notes on the presentation, noting how even the participation of every member of the group and how they contributed. We will also lead the class discussion after every presentation. The final presentations will display the students understanding of the themes discussed throughout the unit as well as how an author or director makes choices to highlight those themes. They will learn how to write and talk persuasively to defend their decisions.

What will be learned (and how will you know?)

The work on these days will lead up to the final presentation where the students will show their understanding of the themes and issues of the story and how an author or director complicates those issues through specific choices and representations.
