About the Course : Electrical and Electronic Engineering is an exciting and dynamic field. Electrical engineering is the application of the laws of physics governing electricity, magnetism, and light to develop products and services as well as equipment operated by electrical power and numerous other components required for such generation, transmission, distribution and use for the overall benefit of humankind.

Electrical engineers deal with the power generation, transmission, conversion, distribution and use of electrical power and related control and instrumentation applications, while electronic engineers transfer the information using radio waves, the design of electronic circuits, the design of computer systems and the development of control systems such as aircraft autopilots etc. Electrical engineers work, plan and create the infrastructure for electrical energy and related equipment and instruments such as generators, transmission lines, transformers and power distribution switch gears. It also helps in designing end use devices such as electric motors, machinery and ignition systems used in Industry, Traction, Automobiles, Aircrafts or any motorized equipment or vehicles. It is a professional discipline that also needs knowledge about application of electronics and electromagnetism and thus electronics & electrical engineering studied together enhance the scope of application. This branch offers exciting job opportunities for students in the rapidly evolving fields of information and communication technology, controls and switch gears, control systems besides the latest advances in the more traditional areas of power, generation, control and electromagnetism. So electrical & electronics engineering deals with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, generation and distribution.

About the Course :

Mechanical is an engineering discipline that involves the application of principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It requires a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and energy. Mechanical engineers use the core principles as well as other knowledge in the field to design and analyze motor vehicles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, watercraft, manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, robotics, medical devices and more. The sub disciplines of mechanical engg are: Mechanics having composed of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics and continuum mechanics. Kinematics which is a study of the motion of bodies (objects) and systems (groups of objects), while ignoring the forces that cause the motion. Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary branch of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and software engineering that is concerned with integrating electrical and mechanical engineering to create hybrid systems. Robotics is the application of mechatronics to create robots, which are often used in industry to perform tasks that are dangerous, unpleasant, or repetitive. Structural analysis is the branch of mechanical engineering (and also civil engineering) devoted to examining why and how objects fail. Structural failures occur in two general modes: static failure, and fatigue failure. Thermodynamics is an applied science used in several branches of engineering, including mechanical and chemical engineering. from municipal through to federal levels, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies. There are 11 sub disciplines in Civil Engineering: Coastal Engineering Construction Engineering Earthquake Engineering Environmental Engineering Geotechnical Engineering/Soil Mechanics Engineering. Water Resources Engineering Materials Engineering Structural Engineering Surveying Transportation Engineering Municipal or Urban Engineering

B.Tech Environmental Engineering

About the Course : We humans have a long history of polluting our air, water, and soil. This contamination not only hurts nature, but is dangerous to people. Luckily, environmental engineers are on the job. Students in Environmental Engineering learn to design, develop, and evaluate structures, equipment, and systems that protect the environment from the effects of human activity and that improve public health and well-being. Overall objective of Environmental Engineering is to reduce the impact of human activities on the natural environment, and to create a more sustainable eco-system for future generations to live in. Presence of some of the best known pollution emitting industries and Government regulating bodies have made possible transfer of environmental technology in the country. The Six main sectors in this field are:Pollutant Transport: Environmental problems are essentially multi-physics problems and often involve transport of some substance. Transport of contaminants and other substances may occur in the atmosphere, water bodies such as rivers, lakes or ocean. Sources of pollutants may be industrial and urban waste, agricultural pollution or saltwater intrusion in coastal aquifers Water Purefication: This includes design or analysis of water treatment plants which are

categorized as Sanitary Waste Treatment, Industrial Waste Treatment, Drinking Water Treatment. It covers treatment of chemical, biological, and/or thermal waste, the purification of water and air. Wastewater Treatment: This is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater and household sewage, both runoff (effluents) and domestic. It includes physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove physical, chemical and biological contaminants. Its objective is to produce a waste stream (or treated effluent) and a solid waste or sludge suitable for discharge or reuse back into the environment. o Treatment removes unwanted constituents without affecting or altering the water molecules themselves, so that wastewater containing contaminants can be converted to safe drinking water. Most treatment plants have primary treatment (physical removal of floatable and settle able solids) and secondary treatment (the biological removal of dissolved solids). Air Pollution: This involves protecting environment from air pollution. Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or damages the natural environment, into the atmosphere. The atmosphere is a complex, dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletion due to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the Earth's ecosystems. Solid Waste Treatment: This offer technologies and consultancy services in Solid Water Treatment and management. The solid waste from Industrial kitchens, butchery house, segregated bio-degradable waste of Housing colonies can be treated to get valuable bi-products such as Bio methane gas for heating and rich fertilizer. The large quantity of Biogas can be converted in to Electricity for garden lighting. Hazardous Waste Management: The Hazardous Substances Management Division (HSMD) is the nodal point within the Ministry for management of chemical emergencies and hazardous substances. The main objective of the Division is to promote safe management and use of hazardous substances including hazardous chemicals and hazardous wastes, in order to avoid damage to health and environment.

B.Tech Biotech Engineering

About the Course : Biotechnological engineering or biological engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on biotechnologies and biological science. It includes different disciplines such as biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, bio-process engineering, biosystem engineering and so on. However, in general it is an integrated approach of fundamental biological sciences and traditional engineering principles. Biotechnology is technology based on biology, especially when used in agriculture, food science, and medicine. United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity defines biotechnology as: Any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use. Biotechnology is often used to refer to genetic engineering technology of the 21st century, however the term encompasses a wider range and history of procedures for modifying biological organisms according to the needs of humanity, going back to the initial modifications of native plants into improved food crops through artificial selection and hybridization. Bioengineering is the science upon which all biotechnological applications are based. With the development of new approaches and modern techniques, traditional biotechnology industries are also acquiring new horizons enabling them to improve the quality of their products and increase the productivity of their systems. Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, including health care (medical), crop production and agriculture, non food (industrial) uses of crops and other products (e.g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses
