Biodiesel production from low cost feedstock study the catalytic effect (solid base and solid acid), effect of water and FFA in catalyzed ultrasound in situ transestrification reaction ( in case of algae) and fuel characteristics
Reason
Production of biodiesel from low cost feedstock (waste frying oil, algae) or the feedstock which contains Free fatty acid (soya bean oil, FFA > 2 wt%) seems potential biofuel production. The presence of water and FFA affects the performance of catalyzed transesterification reactions. Heterogeneous catalyst or mesoporous heterogeneous catalyst are promising candidate for this solution.
Evidence

(2)" studies on design of heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel" (3)"Modern heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production" (4) "recent development on heterogeneous catalyst for biodiesel production by oil esterification and transesterification (5)" biodiesel production by ultrasonic-assisted transesterification" (1) Soybean oil (contain 2 wt% FFA) or waste oil ( contain 5 wt% FFA) dry microalage (2)
first synthesis mesoporous MgO and test it catalytic activity (solid base) or second option with be mixture of mesoporous metal oxide
(1) solid base (2) solid acid---(high surface area, good pore size, bifuntional, high thermal stability (calcin. Temp), leaching
Experimental Conditions:
1st target with solid base 1st Month 1st week 2nd week 3rd week 4th week 1st week
2nd target with solid acid 2nd Month 2nd week 3rd week 4th week
Experiment
Synthesis of mesoporous MgO and catalytic test of MgO with (triolein and oil with FFA >2wt%)
if catalytic activity proved, then also possible to test with ultrasound in situ transesterificaion of dry alage
if catalytic activity proved, then also possible to test with ultrasound transesterification (oil contain FFA > 2 wt%) Option
