INTRODUCTION OF INFORMATION AGENCY

There are four types if information agencies, such as Museum, Library, archive and record center. These four agencies is the guardian of information and knowledge. It is to support and to conform the goverment policies, and they exist to ensure and to support the development of an information society thorugh the management of information in its various form. These agencies also involve in information action and repackaging through researches, writing and translations. It is the responsibilites of an information agency to provide, personalied services to their user. The information agency also to connect the variety of information databased and system from all over the nation through the establishment of integrated national network, to share information amongst all information agencies.

INTRODUCTION OF INFORMATION AGENCY

What is information agency? The Information agency where they creating, identifying, collecting, acquiring, packaging, storing, processing, preserving and many more. These informatiom agency ia an agency that specialized in an information work. Each of this information agencies serves user with all kinds of different resources due to the different purpose of existence and the aim is to fulfill the user needs. The information agency may function as a guide for researcher to search or look for a certain information based on the information that needed. Some of the information can be look through the museum, record center, library and archive.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF INFORMATION AGENCY

1. Always become the leader of all endeavors that is related to the information utilizations and manipulations. For examples the National Library of Malaysia has become the premier Library that had provide and channel reference and research materials or information in various media. And usually the aim of the library is, to provide information to the users on various material that is to be enjoy by all levels of society in Malaysia.

2. Involve in information creation and repackaging through researches, writings, translation and many more. The information agency especially the libraries need to develop and deliver information packages or alerting services such as complimation of bibliographies, data or statistic for specific user needs or groups. It is the responsibilities of the information agency to provide a specific information regarding on thier services to each users.

3. Organized and conduct researches and surveys on users information needs and demands. As part of the establishment, the information agencies need to determined the needs and demands of their users and provides information services that provides those specific needs. From time to time, information agencies need to conduct research and surveys to make sure the fullest satisfaction of the user. Such as the museum size, scope ,quality, and quantity of collection, location and size of the facilities. Also the whay they displayed thier exhibit and interpret thier collections.

4. Commited in the training of information workers or professionals. Information agencies provides training and courses in thier relaed field both for their continuous improvement and knowledge of their staff as well as others. This will make tha staff more ready to make or continued thier work without hesatation, and also they can answer a question regarding their works such as at the library.
