Grade Eights, Lookin Ahead!!

During the couple of months since school began, the grade eights have been preparing for High School. -Anonymous Well of course, the first step is choosing a High School, and to help them out, our grade eights took several trips to the home schools in the area. First to Central Commerce where we enjoyed a tour and a play by Shakespeare in Action. Our next school was Central Tech where we spent a half day touring the huge buildings that offered so many learning opportunities! We also visited Jarvis Collegiate just up the road where many other schools came too, so everyone had a chance to see old friends! We also were taught in different classes just similar to the way a class is taught on a regular day!! What will you choose!!

Central Tech was good but I don't think I would go there.

Dante Scholar This year our senior boys volleyball team made it to the semi-finals with an undefeated season. They had won against King Edwards and Duke of Connaught. They also had a forfeit win against Jesse Ketchum, and had won another game against Ryerson that was played during the quarter-finals and ultimately didn't count. Now all we can do is hope for the team to get another banner for our school!

Pick something that you are doing poorly in. Next, study until you think you have understood what you were have trouble with. Hopefully you will improve. When you are bored and dont know what to do, study for an upcoming test or just so you can get ahead in class. If you do chances are you will get better marks.

BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS!

1 1/2 cups mashed bananas 2/3 cup sunflower seed oil 1 egg, beaten 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup white sugar 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

Do not leave homework to the last minute. If you decide to do your homework first, you will feel relaxed and can move on with your day without having to think about it. The quicker you do your homework and get it over with, the more simple it will be to learn in class and move on with your day.

1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

Dont watch too much TV or play too many video game because they will spoil your eyesight and you may forget all about your homework. Also, go to sleep early so when you have to go to school, you can wake up early and not feel sleepy at school.

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin. 2. In a medium bowl blend the banana, oil, egg and vanilla together. 3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in the banana mixture until just blended. Lightly mix the chocolate chips in. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin. 4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove muffins to a wire rack to cool completely.

Breaking Dawn was AMAZING!!! If you had read the book the movie is exactly like the book. The marriage was justBeautiful and Amazing. The wedding speeches were funny, the honeymoon was just wow, and the pregnancy scene wassomething (Remind yourself Popcorn isnt a good idea if you get sick easily) The ending was pretty epic. All you Twihards go watch this!! I give it a 5/5 :)

Back November, we visited the Toronto Zoo. There, something very tragic happened with a newborn polar bear. The surprise birth of three polar bear cubs at the Toronto Zoo Tuesday night turned ugly when the mother lashed out, leaving one cub dead and two clinging to life.
