Provide Certificates as proof that items furnished by the Contractor conform to the requirements of the codes and standards which apply. Provide Operation and Maintenance manuals on all equipment for the total system. Provide accurate test reports. Record and report on the methods of testing, times and dates of tests, witnesses to the test, and the results of the test. The test reports shall be neatly complied on standard A4 sheets and along with all support data shall be submitted to the MARAFIQ for review. Provide spare parts list. DESIGN FEATURES The crane shall be designed, as a minimum, to meet the following performance requirements. Main hoist speed Auxiliary hoist speed Trolley speed Bridge speed 6.1 m/min. 21.3 m/min. 38.1 m/min. 61.0 m/min.

The bridge brake shall be foot-operated hydraulic for the turbine room crane with a torque rating of 100 percent of the drive motor. The trolley brake shall be spring set with electric release. The hoist brake for holding and control will be per CMAA. All bearings shall be roller or ball type and shall be pressure lubricated. All gears shall be provided with an ample oil bath or greased lubrication. Lubrication points not readily accessible from the footwalk shall be piped to the footwalk, or a footwalk extension shall be supplied for the turbine room crane. Hoisting ropes shall be improved plow steel with hemp center or approved equal. The minimum rope diameter shall be 12.7 mm. The design stress on the hoisting ropes shall have a safety factor of 1:5. The main hook shall be a sister-type with eye. The auxiliary hook shall be a single-prong type. The operator's cab on the crane shall be an enclosed sit-down type. It shall be on one end of the crane, offset so as not to interfere with lighting operations. The cab will contain controller's protective panel, communication equipment, alarm gong, fire extinguisher, dome light, ANSI standard convenience outlet, and air-conditioning unit. A clearly audible horn shall be sounded whenever the bridge is in motion.

PART 2 - MATERIALS 2.1 A. B. STRUCTURAL REQUIREMENTS All structural materials shall be in accordance with ASTM A 36. Bridge girders shall be welded box sections. The maximum deflections shall not exceed 1.25 mm/m of span. Bridge and trucks shall be welded steel box sections. Footwalks made of checkered steel flooring shall run the full length of the span on the driver's side of the crane. A double member handrail and a 150-mm toe guard shall be provided. A short walkway on the outside of the rear girder and crosswalk to one end of the bridge shall be provided. Access ladders shall be provided. Spring bumpers on all four corners of the crane and bridge end stops shall be provided. Spring-type trolley chocks shall limit the trolley travel on the bridge. INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS The speed control of the several crane motions shall be by means of motor secondary resistors, energized through reversible magnetic-type contactors operated by master control switches. Contactors shall be adequate in number and rating and shall have removable arcing tips. Controllers for all motions shall provide a minimum of five speeds in each direction. All controllers and resistors shall provide "jogging" service. All controls shall be micro processor based. With the crane properly adjusted, operating normally, and carrying the rated load, it shall be possible to control vertical movement to within 4 mm. For all conditions of loading, it shall be possible to control bridge and trolley movement to within 7 mm. The crane control switches shall be located in the cab. Controllers for bridge and trolley drives shall provide, in addition to variable speed control, a drift point in each direction. The control equipment shall be provided with devices which will prevent motors from being restarted after power failure until the control handle has been brought to the neutral position. Resistors shall be nonbreakable grid, rustproof, heavy-duty type. Limit switches shall be provided to control upper and lower motion of both hoists and to control motion at both ends of trolley and bridge travel. A warning light with identifying nameplate shall be provided at the controls to alert the operator when the trolley is within 23 cm of the rail stops. When activated, limit switches shall open the power circuits to the motors and set the electric brakes. They shall be automatically reset by reversing the controllers.
