STUDY TOURS During the Training Program FCRI organized different tours at interesting places in some South Indian States and some Government organizations related to the course. Through these visits we became very familiar with Indian history, culture and recent development of India. A brief description of each trip is given below. The most popular place that we visited are briefly described here. Koch or Cochin (colonial name Cochin) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the India. cochin is breathtakingly scenic and prosperous city of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'. Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. The Arabs, British, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese have left indelible marks on the history and development of Cochin. Cochin is proud of its world class port and international airport that link it to many major cities worldwide. We visited to Jewish Synagogue and Tripunithura palace/museum at Kochi and took boating at marine drive beach.

Trichur is also known as the Cultural Capital of Kerala because of its cultural, spiritual and religious
leanings towards history. Here, we were taken to the Guruvayoor temple, Elephant Park Trivandrum & Kanyakumari Thiruvananthapuram, is the capital of Kerala. It is located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. The city is characterized by its undulating terrain of low coastal hills and busy commercial alleys. it is the largest and most populous city in Kerala. One of the main attractions of Thiruvananthapuram is Padmanabhapuram Palace which is located about 60 km from city, was once the home of the Royal family of Travancore. It is one of the best examples of the traditional wooden palace, a glorious testimony to the traditional architecture of Kerala. The city also attracts many tourists with its beautiful beaches like Kovalam. Kanyakumari is the Lands end of India. Kanyakumari is a town in Tamil Nadu State It is the point of confluence of three oceans; The Bay of Bengal, The Arabian Sea and The Indian Ocean. Other famous places to visit here are the Vivekanda Rock Memorial and the gigantic 133 feet statue of Tamil saint-poet Thiruvalluvar. Both are located on two rocky islands projecting from the sea.

Bangalore: Bangalore is nicknamed the Garden City and was once called a pensioner's paradise. It is located on the Deccan Plateau in the south-eastern part of Karnataka. It is a modern busting city along with aerospace research, biotechnology, software companies and dozens of premier education institutions. The present capital of Karnataka, Bangalore was founded by the local Chieftain Kempe Gowda in Sixteenth century. But Bangalore never came up on the scene till it was converted into the summer capital of Mysore by Tipu Sultan. The latest trends and fashion, large number of cinema halls and pubs in Banglore identified it as a most westernized city in India. Bangalore is also known as the Silicon Valley of India because of its position as the nation's leading IT exporter. We had visited Visweasariah Industrial and Technical Museum, Biological Park and Lal Bagh Gardens in Banglore. The rich and beautiful Lal Bagh Garden is a pleasant 240 acres park in the southern suburbs of Bangalore. One of the many gardens in the city, Lal Bagh is the most famous garden in Bangalore We had also visited Instrumentation Limited, where the control valves are manufactured, coconut oils factory( Marico Limited) and beer factory in Kanjikode, Malampuzha dam with Garden, Arthirapilly waterfalls, Aryabaidhya sala, .
