Tips for getting high mark - DO


Training with time limit from 15 to 18 minutes Always try to catch the word limit Make comparison where relevant Complex and compound sentences will be rated highly If you are weak at English grammar, try to use short sentences Try to use transitional words/phrases Create a range of expressions Change a slight increase to increase slightly Learn a few different ways to say the same thing Learn as many synonyms as you can Think about the tenses of your verbs past tenses for describing graphs present simple for describing a process If you have finished the exam, check what you have done

Tips for getting high mark DONT


Avoid informality Dont write too long or complicated sentences Don't describe items separately Dont use narrative style. Dont miss the conclusion, no ending no 6 point Dont put speculation, personal pronounces in your report Dont forget to add data to support your information Dont use the sentences which provide information that is so obvious or try to describe every number on a chart or graph (unless there are only a few numbers) Dont forget spelling and punctuation count towards accuracy Dont waste too much time trying to make your handwriting perfect Don't forget to write a good summary/overview of the information
