FOUR-CYLINDER MOTOR
The heart of the Pony Tractor is this stout little engine with all the modern features of its larger brothers. From its four cylinders and its 62 cubic inch displacement comes surprising power for its weight and size. With regular gasoline fuel it has a compression ratio of 6.5-1, ensuring high economy and flexible power output. It is cool running by reason of its thermo-syphon cooling system extending full length of the cylinder walls. Crankshaft is special steel-forging of high tensile strength and is balanced statically and dynamically. Connecting-rod bearings are precision lined for ready servicing. Pistons are cast-iron, tin-plated, and are proportioned for maximum rigidity and heat flow. Tappets are barrel type, easily removable for servicing. Lubrication of all motor parts is by full pressure system. Intake and exhaust manifold are made in one piece.

THREE-SPEED TRANSMISSION
Matching the power of its sturdy little engine is this field tested, three-speed transmission specially designed for the Massey-Harris Pony Tractor. Smooth running, this transmission is of the selective spur gear type and is enclosed in a heavy, rigid case, with power transmitted to the wheels by heavy drop gear drives which permit the exceptional clearance under the axlean important feature when working in row crops. All gears are machine cut and accurately finished for quiet running and perfect fit. Main axle is mounted on heavy-duty Timken bearings. Band, drum type brakes, cam operated, are mounted on the final drive shaft.

SPEEDS TO FIT THE JOB

Plowing, cultivating, discing, mowing each farm operation demands the right speed for best results coupled with fuel economy. No. 801 MOUNTED PLOW FOR PONY TRACTOR

The No. 801 is a single-furrow mounted plow and is available with 10-, 12-, or 14-inch bottoms and 15-inch rolling coulters. Skimmer is available on special order. The plow is specially designed for direct mounting on the Massey-Harris Pony tractor and is of full floating design. The flexibility of the No. 801 mounting allows the plow to maintain uniform plowing depth, irrespective of the rise and fall of the land. This flexible mounting also enables the plow to move sideways in either direction should a stump or stone be encountered by the bottom, thus providing all the good plowing advantages you get in a walking plow. Depth lever linked to the front end of the hitch regulates the depth of plowing. Width of plowing is also easily adjusted on the drawbar to suit the size of the bottom used. Levelling of the bottom is readily controlled by crank. Hand lift attachment, spring balanced, enables the operator to raise or lower the plow bottom without disturbing depth lever adjustment.

There is the further advantage that, with a mounted implement, the job of transporting the outfit from field to field, or on the highway, is simplified by the method of raising the implement completely off the ground by the lifting device supplied for this purpose. For convenience and comfort and the capacity to get your field work done quickly and economically there is no better outfit on the market than the Massey-Harris Pony tractor and its complement of mounted implements.

MASSEY-HARRIS No. 40 DISC HARROW FOR PONY TRACTOR

The No. 40 is a 10-blade out-throw disc harrow with a 5-ft. width of cut. Frame is heavy angle of overhead design. Disc gangs are mounted on heavy duty bearings. Unit is equipped with long, stout drawbar, and hitches to the tractor at a point just back of the front wheels. Hand lift attachment enables operator to lift discs completely off the ground for transporting or backing up close to fences, etc.,--a special feature of the Pony disc harrow. No. 40 MOUNTED SPRING TOOTH FIELD CULTIVATOR

A fully mounted cultivator. Frame is of simple, T-shaped design. Three full floating gongs, with independent pressure springs, assure good work in uneven ground conditions. Nine spring teeth in two rows provide ample clearance. Standard equipment includes 11/2-inch reversible points. Sets of shovel points and weeder blades in 4", 41/2", 6", 71/2", and 12" sizes, are available on special order.

It's a pleasure to operate the No. 20 tractor. The motor responds instantly to the demands of the throttle, delivering smooth, flexible, controlled power at the touch of your fingers. There's extra power for belt work too, by simply advancing the throttle to step up engine speed from 1500 R.P.M. to 1800 R.P.M.

The cylinder head has scientifically designed combustion chamber giving unusual smoothness and efficiency. A special feature is the patented individually ported design manifold. Individual porting makes full use of all the fuel, giving greater economy. Engine block is of solid bore type giving better compression. Valves are heat resistant, made of new austenitic material.

FOUR-SPEED TRANSMISSION
This No. 20 transmission is extra heavy and is enclosed in a rigid, precision-bored case. Gears run in accurate alignment and last longer. Shafts are short to eliminate flexing. All gears are forged from case-hardened alloy steel. Speed change gears are spur type, while fourth gear is helical drive to the spiral bevel differential. Entire transmission runs in bath of oil.
