The Code of Ethics for My Business Your Name BUS/210 September 15, 2011 Dr. Eli Reite

2 A code of ethics is a set of guidelines which are designed to set out acceptable behaviors for members of a particular group, association, or profession. Many organizations govern themselves with a code of ethics, especially when they handle issues like investments, health care, or interactions with other cultures. In addition to setting a professional standard, a code of ethics can also increase confidence in an organization by showing outsiders that members of the organization are committed to following basic ethical guidelines in the course of doing their work. Businesses set this code of ethics for their employees so everyone goes by the same rules. Education- Continuing education will be needed to improve business and personal lives. Depending on the level of success theyre seeking to achieve, the level of education may be relative, but the bottom line is, an education of some sort is often paramount to future success. Completing increasingly advanced levels of education shows that you have a drive and commitment to learn and apply information, ideas, theories, and formulas to achieve a variety of tasks and goals. Employment- I will only hire individuals the age of 18 and up with a diploma, or a G.E.D. Employees will receive overtime when working over eight hours, and there will be a required two days off for every 28 days worked. You must speak English, and Spanish is a plus. This is necessary because I will not hire anyone under the age of 18 which is too young, and speaking English and/or Spanish is demanded to converse with their employees and most importantly customers. If youre going to be late, call an hour or two in advance, and if youre your sick call first thing in the morning, or the day before.

3 Respect- Everyone must work together as a team, in a spirit of fun, yet being professional and respectful towards others. Employees must strive to perform at their best to help the company stay in business. No harassment of any sort will be tolerated, whether it is sexual or violent, and any employee acting against this rule will be terminated. Employees must treat everyone the equally despite race, religion, age, or gender. This is important because everyone deserves to be respected, and work together as a family. Sustained Growth- This is the realistically attainable growth that a company could maintain without running into problems. The business and employees will grow ensuring employment. There will also be room for growth within the company which will benefit the companys future and performance. This is important so I can learn how to improve my business. Honesty/Trust/Integrity- All employees shall uphold truthful information, and be honest at all times to everyone including its customers. Employees must uphold their honesty and integrity of the company and its employees. This is important so no one will end up being terminated. Safety- Employees must commit to safety, and discourage verbal and physical attacks on anyone. No weapons and no stealing. Employees must work in a safe manner and ensure others are being safe. This is important because we dont want to have any law suits or accidents on the job.

4 This code of business ethics reflects the companys commitment to the highest standards of legal and ethical business conduct. The Code does not contain all Company policies or include all details regarding any policy. Rather, the code sets forth the fundamental legal and ethical principles for conducting all aspects of Company business.
