TODAY Welcome to Cedar Church! This morning, Pastor Steve resumes his sermon series called Judges - Gods Rescue through Unlikely Heroes. In the evening service, Pastor Steve begins a new sermon series called Living Out the Gospel in the Letter to the Galatians. 11:00 AM Sunday School & Small Groups 12:45 PM Kent County Jail 5:30 PM Evening Service THIS WEEK Wednesday Midweek Ministries @ 7 PM Thursday Holland Rescue Mission Service @ 7 PM Mens Shelter ANNOUNCEMENTS The Deacons Fund received $2,400.00 in donations last week. Praise the Lord! In order to fully fund our deacons in their future ministry of mercy, Cedar Session requests that the congregation help us raise the fund to a $5,000 balance at a special diaconal offering on Sunday, April 29th. Thank you for your prayers and generosity. Lords Supper & Cadet Sunday in 2 Weeks We will celebrate the Lords Supper on Sunday, May 13th in the morning service. Our benevolent offering will be for our Cadets Ministry in both the morning and evening services. Graduation Sunday On Sunday, May 20th, Cedar Church will recognize our graduating seniors during the morning service with a special gift Bible. Graduating high school seniors this year are Caryn Baker, Rachel Himebook, Matthew Igo & Sarah VanDyke. Graduating college seniors this year are Kailyn Baum, Brian Grysen, Erin Grysen Strating, Joanna Hartwell, Sarah Stanley, and Elizabeth VanDyke. Please offer your heartiest congratulations to these students. Additionally, our Fellowship Luncheon will be held on May 20th to honor our graduates, and so as not to interfere with Mothers Day.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Help our Ushers by Reserving the Last 2 Rows of Chairs Cedar session would request that the congregation reserve the final two rows of chairs in the gymnasium for visitors, late comers and families with small children. Starting in June, our ushers will begin to manage our seating bottlenecks more actively to serve the needs of our growing church family as we worship Christ together. Pastor Steve has received some free tickets ($25 value) to see Dave Ramseys Total Money Makeover Live! at the Van Andel Arena on Saturday, May 5th from 1 6 PM. Find out how to get out of debt, how to spend with a purpose, keys to saving money, investing with confidence, how to live on a single income without fear, and more. See Pastor Steve if you are interested. Assistant to the Pastor Cedar session is pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for a new administrative assistant position for Cedar Church. The assistant to the pastor is a parttime work at home position (18-20 hours per week) that will aid our pastor with church-wide communication, administration, record keeping, people management, and other duties. We invite all interested candidates to pick up a Job Description form from Craig Baker. Please forward your resume and cover letter to Craig Baker or David VanDyke, if interested in the position. 2012 OPC Family Camp - Please plan to register for a wonderful time of fellowship and refreshment at our 17th Annual OPC Family Camp of the Michigan-Ontario Presbytery, held at Camp Concordia in southwest Michigan. Our registration deadline is July 29, but we have an early bird discount available to all campers who register (with payment) by May 22. Campsites and cabins are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited, so sign up early. ANNOUNCEMENTS National Day of Prayer - Please join fellow Christians to pray for our nation on the National Day of Prayer this Thursday, May 3 from noon - 1:00 p.m. at Veteran's Park next to Hudsonville City Hall. This will be an informal "come and go" event. Pray in groups of 2-3 or pray individually. Prayer guides provided. May all who come behind us find us faithful! Depression Support Group - Need a listening ear or suggestions for ways to cope? We meet the third Monday of the month from 7:00-8:00 PM at Fairway Christian Reformed Church, 1165 44th Street, Jenison. The group is open to anyone who is experiencing depression or bi-polar depression or to family members who are dealing with someone in their family who is depressed. The group stresses confidentiality. Members may participate as they wish. Just drop in. For more information call the church at (616) 6620368. DivorceCare - A seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. DivorceCare meets on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm at Fair Haven Ministries in Hudsonville. DC4K (DivorceCare for Kids) is also offered on Monday nights. Griefshare - A support group for people grieving the death of someone close to them. GriefShare meets on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm at Fair Haven Ministries in Hudsonville. Saturday Slip n Slide - June 16, 2012 from 12noon 5pm at Rosewood Park (aka Charlies Dump) in Jenison. Water slides, dunk tanks, bounce houses, entertainment, raffle prizes. All proceeds benefit KIDS HOPE USA. Volunteers are needed to help during the event. If you need any assistance, please ask one of our greeters for help. SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE Cedar Church strives to enjoy God through Spirit-empowered and Christ-centered worship. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday. A NURSERY is available near the entrance of the gymnasium, but children are always welcome in the worship service. COFFEE BREAK After the morning worship, please join us in the foyer for coffee and refreshments. KIDS BREAK After morning worship, all kids (pre-school thru 6th grade) are invited to remain in the gymnasium for snacks and fun songs with Mr. & Mrs. Himebook. SUNDAY SCHOOL - From 11 AM-12 PM, Cedar Church offers classes for all ages. Visitors are especially welcome to join us!
