ORGANISATION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


-Review performance of environmental objectives, targets and management programs. -Follow-up on corrective and preventive actions to be taken. -Identify, feedback and recommend any changes to environmental impacts and legal register. -Establish and recommend environmental performance indicators -Follow up on working committee and project team activities. -Arrange environmental aspect identification, review annually, or when new activity or product is introduced. -Responsible for functions and operations of individual department. -Support and work closely with other department to achieve Quality Policy and Objectives & Environmental Policy & Objectives Definition : ET1=Environmental Team 1 ET2=Environmental Team 2 ET3=Environmental Team 3 ET4=Environmental Team 4 ET5=Environmental Team 5 EMS=Environmental Management System

ET1 - Legal Matter and Pollution Control


-To identify all the legislative requirements. -To compile all legislative requirements in Legal Register. -To understand all the legislative requirements. -To update all legal requirements in Legal Register. -To keep track of changes in the requirements. -To communicate the requirements to relevant department or relevant committees. -Evaluate and up-grade the present pollution prevention. -Find alternative ways of preventing pollution -To identify new parameters of pollutants that needs to be controlled. -To monitor the present pollution condition of air, water, land and noise. -To coordinate and ensure compliance with legal requirements. -To provide training on pollution prevention or control at all levels. -Formulate and implement pollution prevention activities and programs.

ET2-Waste Management & Chemical Control


-Responsible for evaluation of new chemicals to be introduced. -Manages the chemical master list -Formulate and implement chemical handling training and awareness programs. -To maintain all the Chemical Master List and MSDS -To ensure chemical storage are safe and with proper warning labels. -To provide training on chemical use and handling -To monitor and coordinate major chemical spillage or incidents. -Ensure all relevant MSDS are available at the side. -To identify different types of waste from different sources. -Storage management of various types of waste. -To ensure waste storage areas are safe and with proper waste labels. -To arrange disposal of waste. -To train on waste handling -Formulate and implement waste management programs.

ET3-Promotion ,Publicity & Activities


-To maintain environmental awareness activity through training & publicity. -To provide training to all levels whose work may create significant impact to environment. -To promote Environmental Awareness to all levels through launching / training. -To notify policy changes and provide Environmental Policy training to all levels. -To receive and respond to communications from external interested parties -Activities conducted at company for compliance with EQA, 1974

ET4-Audit
-To ensure periodical internal audits are being carried out to ensure the system is in force. -To conduct periodically supplier audit on the environmental issues -To suggest improvement activities related to EMS

ET5-Emergency Response
-To promote health and safety awareness to employees -Ensure all safety and emergency environment control equipment are in good working condition. -To control and take action in the event of emergency, e.g.fire,major chemical spillage, flood and etc. -To maintain emergency teams and ensure proper training of these teams. -To conduct drills wherever possible. -To investigate, report and follow-up on any incidents or near miss incidents.
