A Soft Opening Benefit Show July 7th-August 5th Common Street Arts 16 & 18 Common Street Waterville ME 04901

Call for artists!

Be a part of the inaugural ARTworks benefit show in Watervilles new downtown art space, Common Street Arts. As a non-juried group exhibition, ARTworks invites artists of all stripes to put their best foot forward. We hope you have heard about and enjoyed Common Street Gallery over the last year and will be as excited as we are to watch it grow in collaboration with many community arts partners, including Freshwater Arts and the Colby College Museum of Art. The collaboration will help us move towards our vision of an expanded and dedicated space for arts exhibition and instruction. This project has been made possible by a Creative Communities = Economic Development Grant from the Maine Arts Commission. The ARTworks benefit show will provide crucial funding necessary to bring more art to more people in Waterville and beyond through education, exhibitions and events.
Our Vision Common Street Arts will: Provide arts education opportunities to all members of the Waterville area community regardless of age, skilllevel, or socioeconomic status through year-round classes and workshops in and beyond our new classroom facility. Host multi-media arts exhibits and events in our gallery and event space, featuring work of local, regional, national, and international artists, all of which will be open to the public at low or no cost. Oversee community arts initiatives including the downtown public art mini-grant program and collaborative marketing of the citys arts and cultural venues.
