Background, there is three reason why we choose micro hydro as our presentation. First there is many village in Indonesia doesnt have electricity in their house. We often see children in Kalimantan or Papua study just using candle, its very different from us in the big city. Second, fossils fuel are running low. Such as gasoline and kerosene is more expensive because limited supply. Third, alternative power generation increasingly rare and very expensive. For example, if we want build a solar cell with capacity until 1 Kwh we need a cost of 2500 USD. Its very expensive for rural communities. Next, problem statement. Many people say that micro hydro is very promising. But, why micro hydro energy is a very promising alternative energy? I will give five point. First Indonesia has many rivers and irrigation channels. MHP( Micro Hydro Plant) is usually built in
rural outposts that havent flow electricity from State Electricity Company (PLN) and has the potential of river water is quite good, for example in the mountains. Second, using micro-hydro energy same as preserving the environment, this point have correlation with point third, because micro hydro doesnt produce pollution. Fourth, very cheap to manufacture. Community collecting money to buy a micro hydro turbines costs Rp 10 million or Rp 1000 per family. And last, cheap in maintenance and is simple to operate. Within a month, maintenance costs about Rp 20,000. The cost could be borne by the whole community. The biggest maintenance carried out every five years at a cost of no more than Rp 2 million. There is many advantages using micro hydro, first Micro Hydro quite cheap because it uses natural energy, just need small water in river or irrigation channel. Construction is simple and can be operated in remote areas, with skilled local population, who have a little practice. In fact, members of the village elementary education can be trained to operate it. After that, micro hydro doesnt cause population, unlike generators that use fossil fuels. Micro hydro can be combined with other programs such as irrigation and fisheries. And last encourages communities to preserve forests, because if the forest is preserved, then availability of water is assured. We have arrived at the conclusion of this presentation, what we can conclude? First micro hydro is very promising energy, potency in our country should be utilized. Second to make micro hydro plant is very simple, we just need water, turbine, generator. And equipment needed the price can be reached by rural communities. Micro hydro use the potential energy of water and convert it into electrical energy. Basic principle in physics that are very useful. The equipment and installation areas that needed is very simple so the electricity which generated relative isnt too large. This is one advantage micro hydro, that does not cause environmental damage. Thus, micro hydro generating system suitable for reaching the availability of electrical energy networks in remote areas and rural.

For recommendation, our group are expecting micro hydro energy will continue to be developed by governments, government support is absolutely necessary especially in rural areas, which are very difficult to get electricity. We hope also, hopefully with a micro hydro, everyone can get a better life.
