Education:
University of Michigan-Dearborn, (Sep 2008 - Dec 2010) Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, GPA:3.25/4.0 Relevant coursework: Vehicle Dynamics. Modeling of Automotive systems. Automotive power trains. Fracture and Fatigue considerations in design. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India (Sep 2004 May 2008) Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, GPA: 3.7/4.0 Graduated with First class in Distinction

Computer Skills:
Matlab (with Simulink), CARSIM, CATIA V5 R18, Minitab, 20-sim (Bond Graph).

Professional Experience:
TRW AUTOMOTIVE April 2011 Present. Product Engineer for Foundation Brake Systems Currently working as Product Design Engineer for Chryslers Heavy Duty Truck Programs. (RAM 2500/3500/4500/5500). Created and released 3D and 2D CAD Models of Foundation brake products (Brake Caliper, Rotor, DIH Park Brake, Hub-Rotor &Bearing Assy.) Performed various Tolerance and Stack-ups whenever required for packaging and component modifications for existing components and any future programs. Initiated and created Engineering Changes for several current production and future programs. Performed CAE Analysis using ANSYS on various foundation Brake Products. Created and Maintained BOMs for production programs & Service Kits for After Market. Participated in Internal and Customer Design reviews; Interacted with Inter-group personnel to overcome the engineering challenges and improving the product performance including the Manufacturing Personal. Managed Design work by reviewing Companys Technical Specifications. Responsible for the Integration of supplier components into Foundation Brake Systems by cocoordinating with suppliers on design development. Continental Automotive Systems, Auburn Hills, MI June 2010 Dec 2011 Foundation Brake Systems Intern Design modifications of CAD models for Foundation Brakes were performed successfully in CatiaV5 environment. GD&T were employed to the CAD designs as per companys internal design procedures and DFMEA analysis was performed for Brake Lining materials and Housing springs. Influence of Drag torque on lining materials was performed on RTV Link Dynamometer by introducing Radial taper and Tangential taper to the lining materials.

Worked on Evacuation of trapped air and filling of brake fluid for Integrated EPB calipers and modifications of seal groves and pistons were made to these calipers by doing disassembly and assembly operations. Coordinated with test engineers in preparation of test rigs for dynamometer performance tests. (Noise test, Drag test and Burnish.)

Design and Analysis of Disc Brake Caliper Literature review on Vehicle brake system, Disc Brake caliper and rotor arrangement of existing brake caliper models available in the market were analyzed. Conceptual model of modular caliper design was developed with the help of CATIA V5 R18, to increase the strength of caliper without increasing the weight of caliper. Thermal and Structural Analysis of Modular Caliper Design Assembly were analyzed for pressure and tangential loads and displacements/deformation and stress with temperature effects were understood using FEA. The modular caliper was analyzed for pressure and tangential loads and results were studied for displacements/deformations and stresses with temperature effects. Study on Static and Dynamical Aspects of a Road Vehicle Tire Characteristics, Vehicle Handling and Stability aspects of a road vehicle were analyzed. Mathematical tire models were used to understand the lateral and longitudinal tire forces on typical road vehicle. Quarter car automotive system model was utilized to understand the performance of active suspension systems of un-sprung mass and sprung mass of typical road vehicle. Ackerman Steering Geometry was analyzed. Numerical analysis of tire cornering stiffness, Under Steer gradient, Vehicle roll gradient and tire cornering stiffness were investigated and obtained results were compared with CARSIM software. Effect of acceleration of the sprung mass and single bump road profile of an automobile was evaluated. Fatigue Investigation of welded specimens on conventional steel joints Measured critical dimensions of provided Single Lap, Double Lap, Butt weld, Perch Mount and Start Stop specimens using mechanical and optical measuring devices. Fatigues testing of these specimens were performed on Material Test System (MTS 180). Variability analysis of these tested specimens was performed, S-N regression plots for test data was done and reports of tested specimens were prepared and emphasis on causes of variability in test specimens was performed. Statistical Analysis of test data has been performed to study the impact of each parameter for the life of specimen.

Additional Experience:
Worked as part time research assistant with Associate professor Dr. Hong Tae Kang on Fatigue Investigation of welded specimens on conventional steel joints at University of MichiganDearborn. Independent Research Study on Effect of Operational Parameters on a Lumped model fuel cell system using GC toolkit with Dr.Tariq Shamim at University of Michigan-Dearborn.
