IMPORTANT: Rear facing installation is improved by the use of the VersaTether , but it is not required.

d. If you have a problem stabilizing your restraint in the rear facing position, place a rolled towel in the crease of the seat to help level the base of the restraint. WARNING: D O N O T raise the base beyond horizontal or off of the vehicle seat; doing so will reduce the protection for your child.

LATCH Connector Storage


The LATCH connectors are stored in two storage slots under the cover. Figure A shows one storage slot. When installing the restraint for the first time, remove the connectors from the storage slots, then refer to S witching the LATCH Connectors for instructions. When not in use, always store LATCH connectors in A storage slots under cover.

Rear Facing Installation with LATC H
1 Verify that your vehicle is equipped with LATCH anchors. (Fig B)
If LATCH anchors are not installed, you must use standard seat belt installation methods.
LATC H Anchors

2 Place the restraint rear facing and fully reclined on the vehicle seat. 3 Loosely attach each LATCH connector to the adjacent LATC H anchor. (Fig. C )
A positive click confirms attachment to the LATCH anchor. If necessary, press silver adjuster release button, then pull to lengthen LATCH webbing. (Fig. E)

4 With one hand, push the restraint firmly into the vehicle seat while pulling the first LATCH connector strap tight. (Fig. D ) 5 Continue pressing restraint firmly into the vehicle seat while pulling the second LATCH connector strap tight. 6 If desired, attach Versa-Tether as instructed in the User Guide. 7 Verify that all connections are tight and the restraint is secure.

Forward Facing Installation with LATC H
1 Verify that your vehicle is equipped with LATCH anchors. (Fig B)
If LATCH anchors are not installed, you must use standard seat belt installation methods.

2 Place the restraint forward facing on the vehicle seat. 3 Loosely attach each LATCH connector to the adjacent LATC H anchor. (Fig. F)
A positive click confirms attachment to the LATCH anchor. If necessary, press silver adjuster release button, then pull to loosen LATCH webbing. (Fig. E)

4 With one hand, push the restraint firmly into the vehicle seat while pulling the first LATCH connector strap tight. Switching the LATCH Connectors


The LATCH harness must be switched for proper alignment in rear facing (Fig. H ) or forward facing (Fig. I) installations. 1 Pull the LATCH harness and connectors out of the current forward facing OR rear facing belt path. 2 Align the LATCH harness in the opposite belt path.
Refer to figure H for rear facing installation OR figure I for forward facing installation. Connector labeled, Drivers side forward and rear facing must be on appropriate side of restraint. Verify that harness is not twisted.

3 Follow instructions for installation with LATCH.
