People in Bangladesh experience wet (rainy) and dry (summer) seasons. Situated in the Tropic of Cancer, Bangladeshi climate is tropical with hot summer from March to June. However, from October to March, a mild cold weather sets in. A warm and humid monsoon season lasts from June to October and supplies most of the country's rainfall. What are some of the places and features that you do not want to miss? For nature lovers, as well as those looking for something exotic, Bangladesh offers exquisite and breathtaking places to visit. You can go to the Sundarbans, the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. There is a National Park in Sundarbans, a Tiger Reserve, and a Biosphere Reserve. This region is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger and other distinctive species of flora and fauna. This region is the only mangrove habitat, where tigers thrive and hunt prey by swimming between islands in the delta. Numbering from 200 to 440, the Bengal tiger is an endangered species. Hopefully, their population would grow and more people will be able to see those majestic felines. But it would certainly be an experience to visit them now and see them in their natural habitat! Another Bengal exclusive is the town of Cox's Bazar, a fishing port and district headquarters in Bangladesh, located 150 km south of Chittagong. It is the world's longest natural sandy sea beach; an unbroken 125 km beach with a gentle slope. Nevertheless, a trip to Bangladesh is never complete without going around its capital city, Dhaka. Why go to Dhaka? Though densely populated, you would definitely find a tour around the city to be very exciting and informative. Dhaka is known as the City of Mosques. Hence, you will be immersed in the countrys culture and cuisine, greatly influenced by Islam. Remnants of the countries Buddhist and Hindu past is still evident in the historical buildings situated in the capital city. While strolling, why not get on a cycle rickshaw so that you can further feel the Bengal culture and people? Interestingly, it is at the very middle of Bangladesh.
