Descriptive Paragraph

It was an afternoon when I met a dentist by an appointment made two days before. That day was the moment when the dentist wanted to pull out my damaged teeth because it is the only way to stop the pain I had suffered for the past two weeks. The dentist said I didnt take care much about my teeth properly. Just brushed my teeth once a day, sometimes didnt brush at all in a day, I was that bad. During the process of pulling out my teeth, the dentist first injected the painkiller into the gum around the damaged teeth. That injection made my mouth numb for some period of time. After a couple of minutes, then the dentist tried to pull out the damaged teeth using his tools, called forceps and elevators. When he pulled out the teeth, it felt like all my teeth were pulled out along. It was not so painful because the effect of injection given to me before. After a few tries, he managed to pull out the teeth and he gave me some cottons and medicine for my follow up action. Later then when I paid, I was quite shocked because it cost almost RM 200! It was just a single teeth pulled out. I cant imagine how much the cost would have been if more of my teeth were damaged and had to be pulled out. From that day, I promised myself to take care of my teeth properly so this scenario will not happen again to me in the future.

Comparison Paragraph

Even though high school and college are both institutions of learning, they differ in a few aspects. The first difference between high school and college is their social environment. In high school the places are usually smaller, and students are familiar with each other. In the college people are always moving, therefore they rarely see the same person twice in a day, which resulted in fewer people being acquainted with each other. The second difference between high school and college is their policies about homework. In high school, homework is required to help motivate students to study. Knowing they have to submit homework, makes the students keep up with the subjects they learn. In college most homework consists of studying, so they have to find the topic they learn by themselves. If students do their homework, it is to their advantage, if they dont do the homework, the lecturers will not force them to do it. The third and last difference between high school and college is their attendance. In high school, students must attend class to get homework and personal help in a certain area. High school students are less responsible. Therefore, they need more guidance in their studies. In college, it is the students responsibility to catch up with work. Lastly, in spite of these differences between high school and college, they both serve the same purpose, to prepare an individual for the real world.
