Explain various fundamental reasons for implementing a Computer Aided Design System in Civil Engineering. [20] Explain with suitable illustrations the typical configuration of hardware components in Computer Aided Design System. [20] A line is defined by its end points A (0, 0) and B (3, 4) in a two dimensional graphics system. Express the line in matrix notation and perform the following transformations with A as the reference point. [20] a) Scale the line by a factor 3.0. b) Scale the original line by a factor 4.0 in x direction and 3.0 in the y direction. c) Translate the original line by 3.0 units in the x direction and 3.0 units in the y direction.
