11 Movie Review Peter Rabbit, Flopsy, Mopsy --- I bet everyone should have read about it in childhood. To me, tales about peter rabbit has been one of those bedtime - fairytales that mummy would read it to me when I was little. Those tales are indeed imaginative, fascinating and lovely. Though it had been almost a century since tales about Peter Rabbit has been first published, we can still find her works everywhere. Have you been thinking about how Beatrix Potter could think of such wonderful tales which has become a classic fairytale? I guess not, neither did I. Miss Potter, a 2006 film directed by Chris Noonan. Renee Zellweger acted as the main character, Miss Beatrix Potter in the film; Ewan McGregor as her fianc, Norman Warne; Emily Watson as Millie, as sister of Warne; Lolyed Owen as William Heelis, who is a solicitor and Lucy Boynton stars as the your Beatrix Potter. It was filmed in Cecil Court, Osterley Park, Covent Garden, the Isle of Man, Scotland and the Lake District. (information from the wikipedia) Miss Potter is a wonderful portrait of the life of Beatrix Potter, who is the creater of Peter Rabbit. Miss potter had been painting and making up stories about her friends since she was young, she paid no attention on marrying to a good man which most girls was destined to in that time. She remained single at the age of 32 and was dreaming to publish her tales about peter rabbits. She was overjoyed when she finds a publisher who is willing to publish her book. Norman Warne, an inexperienced publisher, was the one who was in charge of Miss Potters book. Both of them hoped that the book could be a success. During the time they got along with each other, their relationship soon blossomed to romance. Firstly, I think Zellweger and McGregor who act as Beatrix Potter and Norman Warnes have done an great job. Their acting is nice. It is definitely an enjoyment when watching both character gradually fell in love with each other. Millie, sister of Norman Warnes, was my favorite character in the film. Millie gave full support to Beatrix when Beatrix showed interest in Norman. Millie was an energetic and passionate person who confirmed that she and Beatrix would becom good friends when she first saw her. I like her generosity and bright character and I can feel vital spark from her. She was worth to be a life lastig friend. The film was filmed in a lake district and I found that place was wonderful. Beatrix Potter has spent part of her childhood in here, no wonder she can create such impressive

character. Also, there are some animations of her painting in the film. Her animal characters pop out of from the page. I think this is to show that how deep she is into it when she was drawing. However, I think this part has been a little bit misleading. In the film, Miss Potter finds those animals in the painting charming and always thinks that they were alive, whereas others dont really aware of what she drawn. This shows that Beatrix Potter loved her own creation but it is not presented well. When I watched this scene, mental disorder popped out from my brain. What Miss Potter in the film was doing and the reaction of other people simply suggest that Miss Potter should be locked up in the mental hospital. Therefore, I think this part should be handled more carefully. I do recommend this film to you all, it suits all people at different age. After watching it, I am sure that youll understand why Beatrix Potter could come up with such creative and charming tales. Its because her own life was already an enchanted and charming tale.
