The European Standard EN ISO 1127:1996 has status of a German Norm National foreword
German version EN ISO 1127:1996 Descriptors: steel tubes, stainless steel , dimension, border dimension This European standard EN ISO 1127 applies in the area of responsibility of the technical committee ECISS/TC 29 steel tubes and fittings for steel tubes (secretariat: Italy) of the European committee for iron- and steel standardisation (ECISS). The responsible German standards committees are the subcommittees 09/5 non-rusting steel tubes and 09/8 steel tube dimensions and border dimensions of the standards committee iron and steel (EFS). Modifications Compared to DIN 2462-1:1981-03 and DIN 2463-1:1981-03 were made following changes: a) definition for seamless and welded tubes were affiliated in the standardisation b) differentiation of seamless and welded tubes allotted c) agreement to the border dimensions of the tube length deleted d) tolerance class and border dimensions changed e) values for the external diameter defined f) some values of the fibre coarseness deleted g) ordering information deleted Earlier editions DIN 2462-1: 1969-03, 1981-03 DIN 2463-1: 1969-03, 1981-03

Foreword
The text of the international standardisation of ISO/TC 5 ferrous metal pipes and metallic fittings of the international organisation for standardisation (ISO) was assumed as European standardisation by the technical committee ECISS/TC 29steel tubes and fittings for steel tubes, which secretariat was unexpended from UNI. This European standardisation have to achieve the status of a national standardisation, either by a publication of a identical text or by approval till October 1996 and any opposed national norms have to be retired till October 1996. Accordant to the CEN/CEN ELEC- by-laws the following named national standardisations, have to adopt this European norms: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the united kingdom.
3 Dimensions
The external diameter and the wall thickness, the of this European norm specified tubes, were chosen by ISO 4200 (1). If a wall thickness bigger than 14,2 mm is required, you have to choose it also by ISO 4200.
4 Limiting sizes
The for the external diameter and the wall thickness of the tubes acceptable limiting sizes are dependent on the manufactured steel grade and heat treatment. The limiting sizes you have to chose of the denoted values on table 1 and 2.

1 Coverage
This European standardisation specified diameter, wall thickness, border dimension and values for the fibre coarseness of stainless steel tubes.
The limiting sizes for the external diameter contained the ovality.

5 Values of the fibre coarseness
The values of the fibre coarseness in table 3 for austenitic non-rusting steel tubes results of the multiplication of the according values of ISO 4200 with the factor 1,015. This factor act on the assumption of the average density of this tubes from 7,97 kg/dm.
The values of the fibre coarseness in table 4 for ferritic, martensitic stainless steel tubes results of the multiplication of the according values of ISO 4200 mit the factor 0,985. This factor act on the assumption of the average tightness of this tubes from 7,73 kg/ dm.
