Organisation

Taking every design project (or any other project) it is important to keep organised and hit deadlines. This graph presents the basic plan I have used for this project.

Chosen client

he chosen client sector is Health and Wellbeing. My final choice was the Local client - Spa London, located in Bethnal Green. During the research I had a look around the place and got invited to be a customer to experience the offered services.

The research into spas and other Health & Wellbeing sector companies was so incredibly ugly and dull that I decided not to include it. An important note though is that the most common colour in whole sector designs is (light) blue !

Persona aimed designs


Common factors?

noticed that the type examples of designs aimed specifically at my persona have common factors; they give the look of being settled and most of them are rather quite strict - not too curvy.

looked at the similar colouristic used in design focused at my audience. These designs use a wide range of colours and shadings, from white to black. Mostly, they are quite heavy and block; simple gradients. More extended type development on page thirteen.

I have not found the exactly the same company aimed directly at my persona but I got few examples of similar designs - jacuzzi guide flyer and couple of gyms and swimming pools (which were not very interesting nor inspiring in design way).

Sweat?
The word Turkish bath would make my audiance think of kebab or some kind of cultural festival aimed mainly to Turkish diaspora, this means that the title Turkish Bath (considering that I will not use a strapline instead) should bring the attention in specific way, written with some awsome typeface ! Should fact of hamam being a Turkish bath be a selling point? or different culture may not be attractive for experiencers...?

Concept challenge
t is kind of a sacrifice the beauty/art develops in pain - in order to get fresh, healthy and beautiful you need to get sweaty and smelly.

in some countries (Morocco) if you want to clean yourself you can go to public bath; you have quite a lot of them around, how cool would that be if in London you could do that - you walk down the street, feel dirty, so get into bath right away ! hamam should be more popular, even as a social place, where you go with your friends on lunch break/ instead of pub at the everning/etc... this weekend instead of going party again why not refresh yourself in hamam way, my friend ?

I heard that statistically an average woman will not remember more than 5 reasons/arguments (on any subject), so I am happy that my chosen persona is a male :) Smoke from cigarette is not healthy but steam from water is very healthy - they both so Turkish :)

this is a leaflet/flyer about advantages of attending hamam regularly. The design of it is hurting my eyes but the information will be useful for me to make my own flyer/ poster. I have found this example on the London based Pasha Hamam website here

I used different brushes to get more expressive effects. Some of these look too Japanese, which is not my aim. They also look a bit like cholo graffiti, which is not a bad thing really.

The tiles in London Tube look like intside of the bathroom. You come into corridor full of steam (there are special machines producing steam standing somewhere in the corner) and you think what the hell...? and then you notice a poster saying Turkish Bath and you think oh, yeah, I get it... thats cool :) .
