Rule 39

Cooling of Water Applicable on every factory having more than 250 workers 39(a) Cooled drinking water (ice cooled/effective method) Ice should be clean and wholesome, source of ice only from approved in writing by the Health Officer 39(b) supply of cooled water- Definition of water centreslunchroom/canteen/rest room/accessible points 39(C) water centres to be sheltered from the weather and adequately drained 39(d) No of water centres one per 150 till first 500 workers. And one for every 500 persons thereafter 50 mtr max distance from place of work as may be specified by Inspector. 39(e) Water Centres Clean and orderly cond Water supply through taps or other systems, dust proof covers, raised stands/ platform in shade/ water renewal once everyday 39(f) Suitable person to be charged for water distribution (NA if mechanically operated refrigarator units placed to the satisfaction of Chief Inspector)

Rule 53
Further Safety Prexcautions (Sec 21 (2) of factories act) 53(2) the fencing and other devices for protection should be so constructed and designed as to render it impossible for any person to pass between fencing and moving part of the machinery while it is in motion.

Rule 54
Register of specially trained adult workers (Register to be maintained in form 8, trained workers on moving machinery refer sec 22 factories act)

Rule 65
Ladders All Ladders used in replacing belts shall be specially made and reserved for that work and provided with hooks /non skid device. Hooks properly placed so as they rest on shaft.

Rule 65 F
Methods of Work No process or work shall be carried on in any factory in such a manner as to cause risk of bodily injury.

Rule 65 S
Confidentiality of InformationThe occupier of a factory as mentioned in rule 65NN(Disclosure to workers) 65 O(Disc. To general public, 65 P(Disc to District emergency authority) & 65 PP( Disc of information to chief Inspector) shall disclose all information needed for protecting safety and health of the workers and the general public. If occupier is of view that disclosure details regarding the process and formulation will adversely affect his business interest, he may make a representation to the chief Inspector stating the reasons for withholding such information. The chief Inspector shall give an opportunity to the occupier of being heard and pass an order on representation( Occupier if aggrieved by an order can appeal within 30 days before the state govt. the order of the state govt is final)
