INSTRUCTOR: Ms Tran Kim Anh Phone: 84 16 86 70 71 77 Email: anhtk@etc.edu.vn PROGRAM ASSISTANT Ms. Trn Th nh th Room: Room 908, 9 floor, Hanoi Academy of Theatre & Cinema Ho Tung Mau Street, Cau Giay Dist, Hanoi Phone: +849 8232 8486 Email: anh tt@etc.edu.vn PREREQUISITES: None COURSE PERSPECTIVE & DESCRIPTION Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to work with algebraic concepts; solve linear, quadratic, and absolute equations/inequalities; work with functions and the f(x) notation; work with properties of functions and their graphs; solve and graph exponential and logarithmic equations/functions, solve systems of linear and non-linear systems of equations/inequalities by using substitution/elimination; solve and graph rational functions; solve equations with radicals; find domain and range; find inverses; factoring; factoring higher degree polynomials; find asymptotes; and variations. Topics also include families of functions and their inverses. Students will be required to solve applied problems and

USAGE OF INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY IN/DURING THE COURSE - Students will be provided information, offline materials or materials via Moodle. - Students will be given online research work related to language learning as and when required by lecturers or lessons. - Lecturers and students will exchange information after the class via Moodle, email or YM (Assignment submission, writing, marking, comments, etc) - Class website: http://gabba.griggs.edu.vn - Moodle: http://bba.griggs.edu .vn SELF STUDY - Students should spend at least 6 hours on their self-study for each session. In addition, students are encouraged to do self study research activities depending on the interests. LEARNING MATERIALS - Learning materials including handouts will be provided. - Textbook: College Algebra (8th edition) by Sullivan, published by Prentice Hall Class preparation - Students must be fully prepared for each class. Classroom guidelines - Avoid classroom disruptions. - Electronic device, hand phone must be turned off during class. - Secondary conversations are not allowed. - Respect for the individual - Students have to respect the views and opinions of their colleagues.
